Square Enix has announced that it will be closing its Bravely Default Brilliant Lights server in February 2023. This information was conveyed via the official Bravely Default Brilliant Lights Twitter account. Square Enix also apologized to players for the sudden news. It was not explained why this game was closed by Square Enix.

Bravely Default Brilliant Lights was announced in July 2021 for Android and iOS and is only one of the Bravely Default series that only has a Japanese version available. This game is also part of Bravely Default's 10th-anniversary celebration. This game features several characters from the previous series, such as Agnes Oblige, Edea Lee, and Ringabel.

The main reason for the closing of this game is most likely the lack of players. As of February 2022, there are only 4 million users playing it. Even so, Square Enix has made this game accessible to players offline to view characters, enemy data, and view completed in-game stories.
