In Genshin Impact update 1.2, we welcome a new 5-star character named Ganyu. Ganyu is a Liyue Qixing known for her work as a secretary at Yuhai Pavilion.

Ganyu uses a bow and has Cryo Vision. The girl fits the DPS or Sub-DPS role. DPS Ganyu should focus on the Charge Attack. Charge Attack level 2 will activate Frostflake Arrow that deals Cryo DMG to the area surrounding the target. While as a Sub-DPS, she will focus on her Elemental Burst. Elemental Burst: Celestial Shower creates hail in a wide area.

Ganyu DPS Build

As mentioned before Ganyu shines when rely on her Charge Attack. Ganyu has two levels of Charge Attack. The Level 1 Charge Attack is similar to other bow users, while the Level 2 will activate Frostlake Arrow. The skill causes her Charge Attack to explode upon hitting the enemy and deals Cryo DMG to the target and surrounding area.

And don’t forget about her Elemental Skill. The effect of Elemental Skill: Trail of the Qilin is similar to Amber’s skill, it can taunt the enemy and explodes upon getting hit. The skill allows Ganyu to attack from the distance with her Charge Attack.

Weapon

Most Recommended

Amos’ Bow (5✰): Increases Normal Attack and Charged Attack DMG by 12%. Normal and Charged Attack DMG increases by 8% every 0.1 seconds for up to 5 times.

Amos’ Bow is a great bow for Ganyu/ the effect increases her Charge Attack. Not to mention the damage increases when the arrow travels longer.

Sacrificial Bow (4✰): After dealing damage to an opponent with an Elemental Skill, the skill has a 40% chance to end its own CD. Can only occur once every 30s.

With Sacrificial Bow, Ganyu can use her Elemental Skill more often. So you have more opportunities to use her Charge Attack.

Other Options 

Viridescent Hunt (4✰): Upon hit, Normal and Aimed Shot Attacks have a 50% chance to generate a Cyclone, which will continuously attract surrounding opponents, dealing 40% of ATK as DMG to these opponents every 0.5s for 4s. This effect can only occur once every 14s.

Prototype Crescent (4✰) - F2P: Charged Attack hits on weak points increase Movement SPD by 10% and ATK by 36% for 10s.

Artifact

The recommended Artifact composition for DPS Ganyu is:

• Timepiece: ATK% ;
• Goblet: Cryo DMG Bonus%/ATK%;
• Crown: Crit DMG%/Rate%.

The best sub-stat for each Artifact is Crit Rate%, Crit DMG%, ATK% dan ATK.

Wanderer’s Troupe Set:

• 2 set: Elemental Mastery +80;
• 4 set: Increases Charged Attack DMG by 35% if the character uses a Catalyst or Bow

Blizzard Strayer + Noblesse Oblige Set:

• 2 set: Cryo DMG Bonus +15%;
• 2 set: Elemental Burst DMG +20%;

Build Sub-DPS Ganyu

Ganyu Sub-DPS emphasized the use of her Elemental Burst. Elemental Burst: Celestial Shower will summon hail for 15 seconds. Even better, the cooldown of Celestial Shower is also 15 seconds. Meaning Ganyu can spam her Elemental Burst

To spam her Elemental Burst, Ganyu needs high Energy Recharge. So you have to raise her Energy Recharge.

Weapon

Most Recommended

Skyward Harp Bow (5✰): Increases CRIT DMG by 20%. Hits have a 60% chance to inflict a small AoE attack, dealing 125% Physical ATK DMG. Can only occur once every 4s.

Ganyu can use this bow because the sub-stat that increases Crit Rate% and Crit DMG%.

The Stringless (4✰): Increases Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst DMG by 24%.

As you can see from the explanation, The Stringless increases her Elelmental Burst DMG.

Other Options

• Crown: Crit DMG%/Rate%.

The recommended sub-stat for each Artifact is Crit Rate%, Crit DMG%, ATK%, ATK dan Energy Recharge%.

Blizzard Strayer + Noblesse Oblige Set:

• 2 set: Cryo DMG Bonus +15%;
• 2 set: Elemental Burst DMG +20%;

Noblesse Oblige Set:

• 2 set: Elemental Burst DMG +20%;

• 4 set: Using an Elemental Burst increases all party members' ATK by 20% for 12s. This effect cannot stack.
