As a Mage who focuses on high burst damage, Xavier needs Magic Penetration to get the best out of his damage potential. Therefore, Arcane Boots is the best choice for Xavier as it offers a good amount of Magic Penetration that will certainly boost his damage in the early game.

The bonus Movement Speed that this item offers can also be very useful for you to roam the map more effectively.

Clock of Destiny

For his next item, Xavier can get the item called Clock of Destiny. The Clock of Destiny is a Magic item that suits Xavier perfectly as it increases his Max HP, Magic Power, and Max Mana.

Aside from that, Clock of Destiny also has a Passive that grants 25 HP and 4 Magic Power every 20 seconds, which stacks up to 12 times. If the stack reaches its limit within five minutes, this item will also grant 300 Mana and 5% Magic Power.

Lightning Truncheon

To increase his burst damage, you should pick Lightning Truncheon in mid-game for the additional Magic Power, Max Mana, and Cooldown Reduction it offers. 

On top of that, Lightning Truncheon also has a Passive that grants Xavier additional Magic Damage to nearby enemies after casting a skill.

Holy Crystal

1st Tier Talent: Mastery

Mastery is the best choice for his 1st Tier as it grants a 5% Cooldown Reduction. By having Mastery, Xavier doesn’t need to worry about Cooldown Reduction in the early game.

2nd Tier Talent: Observation

If you plan on further increasing Xavier’s damage output, you should pick Observation for his 2nd Tier Talent for the additional 2 points of Magic Penetration per level. If you feel it’s necessary, you can also combine Observation with Catastrophe for the additional Magic Power.

Dawning Light (U) > Mystic Field (2) > Infinite Extension (1).
