The MPL Indonesia Season 15 (MPL ID S15) competition has entered the final round of the Regular Season where the 6 best teams will advance to the playoff round. Without realizing it, we have entered week 8 which ends on Sunday, May 18, 2025. Each team has also won a ticket to the playoff round.

One of the participating teams that managed to qualify for the playoff round is Geek Fam. As the second team to win a playoff ticket, Geek Fam managed to rise from the slump at the beginning of the MPL ID S15 season. Presenting young stars such as Maykids to Kennzyskie, a big challenge for Geek.

At the beginning of MPL ID S15, Geek Fam was stranded at the bottom of the standings. After several matches, they finally found the right rhyme of strength. Geek Fam also advanced beyond the other teams. Although the steps were not always smooth, however, it is certain that Geek Fam has managed to overcome the 'crisis' they experienced.

After the match against Team Liquid ID, Saturday, May 17, 2025, Baloyskie talked to Dunia Games about his team's journey from the beginning until finally becoming the second team to win a ticket to the playoff round.

As previously mentioned, Geek Fam's initial steps were not smooth. They had to face a storm of defeats until they were finally able to rise and find their best performance. According to Baloyskie, the main thing they did to be able to find their best performance again was to not panic.

Baloyskie emphasized that they did not panic when they were getting bad results and focused on practicing to achieve the best results.

"In my opinion, (we) did not panic. The more (we) panic, the harder it will be (for us) to rise," said Baloyskie to Dunia Games.

Baloyskie also added that when Geek was at a less than ideal level of play, they accepted the mistakes they made and then fixed them over time.

“We have to accept our mistakes, and fix them. Every week, every day we (learn) to fix every mistake and develop the game that we can do, just like that,” Baloyskie added.

Furthermore, Baloyskie explained what factors were the problems for Geek Fam in MPL ID 15, especially when they were at a poor performance level. One of them was about mentality.

“The first is mentality. Because in scrims all the results were good at the beginning, second is about communication (comms) in the tournament. We were too noisy (when playing), and third is our gameplay,” he explained. Discussing how Baloyskie guided young stars such as Maykids and Kennzyskie, he stated that he and the coach, Bluffzy, only honed their self-confidence.

In terms of ability or skill, Baloy admitted that they were two players who were already quite good or had above average abilities.

"In my opinion, they (Maykids & Kennzyskie) are already good. However, their potential has not come out. My job and the coach's is to make them confident, because they are already good so we have to make them confident," he concluded.
