Many anime series really grab the attention of the audience and turn into phenomena. One of them is the anime and manga series of Attack on Titan. Hajime Isayama's iconic action series recently finished the manga, and its acclaimed anime adaptation will enter the final phase of the story in 2023.

Since the first episode of Attack on Titan, a lot of terrible things have happened. The reason is, this series immerses its characters in a terrible war, and it is a series where victims cannot avoid the disaster that occurs. Many formidable soldiers have met their end and some were executed in gruesome and grievous ways in Attack On Titan.

1. Cursed To Be A Pure Titan

Zeke is a Beast Titan and the main antagonist in the early seasons of Attack On Titan. He is famous for his terrible strategy and titan power. An important pillar of Zeke's plan to complete his plan is to infect Ymir's Subject with his spinal fluid. Zeke manages to do this through the soldiers' wine, and he gains the ability to turn them all into mindless Titans just through his screams.

Many of these soldiers had no idea what was going on, and even beloved characters like Falco Grice had this horrific experience. When one becomes a pure titan, one loses one's mind and becomes an object for the soldiers to destroy.

2. Eaten Alive by Dogs

Attack On Titan is a harrowing series and every incident helps the story move forward. Many of the characters in it are caught in a cycle of violence that begins long before their time. The lack of empathy between these people has caused some harm to the characters in it.

Grisha Jaeger's younger sister, Faye, experienced the sad incident of the Marleyan soldiers letting her be eaten alive by dogs and they just watched what happened. Of course this was terrible and sad because at that time Faye was still a child.

3. Beaten by the Lightning Spear

Titans seemed almost impossible to beat when the anime started. But the soldiers managed to create a sophisticated tool that allows them to finish off the titans, the 3D Maneuver Gear. Over time, the soldiers developed more sophisticated weapons to assist them in the annihilation of the Titans, the Lightning Spear.

The Lightning Spear could even annihilate an Armored Titan and of course its power was unquestionable. The humans who were hit by the Lightning Spear would fall apart! Mikasa once killed the Jaegerists with this weapon.

Levi also felt crushed by the Lightning Spear when interrogating Zeke. But specifically for Levi, he is still alive because he is an Ackerman who has the same power as a titan.

4. Eaten by Titan

The Attack On Titan world is full of relentless threats, but one of the most terrifying ways to die is to become a snack for a hungry titan. Titans are certainly very big and scary, plus they love to eat humans.

The crazy thing is, sometimes the titans will play with their food and torture individuals before they are actually eaten. It's never fun, Eren watched the Titan eat his mother in the first episode.

5. Become a Rumbling Victim

Eren and Zeke Jaeger are split due to the use of the Founding Titan's powers. Zeke chose to euthanize Eldian, but Eren chose to enact Rumbling where all the titans on the wall were released and made them destroy the world.

With this plan, Eren wants to eliminate outsiders so that the world can truly be free from the miserable cycle of violence. Being trampled by the Colossal Titan in Rumbling is a terrible, sad and difficult thing to avoid.
