Entering the GO Battle Challenge, which is a Pre-Event of the Pokemon GO Fest 2020, Giovanni has returned with a new army of Pokemon, including the Legendary Suicune.

Suicune has been changed into a Shadow Pokemon and included in Giovanni’s army. This time, Giovanni is riding a black hot air Balloon with a big red “R” on it and can be found if you have a black Super Rocket Radar.

Once you’ve found Giovanni, you’ll be challenged into a battle by him. The first Pokemon that Giovanni will use is Persian, the Normal-type Pokemon that has been Giovanni’s favorite. The second Pokemon will be either Nidoking, Dugtrio, or Garchomp, as for the third, he’ll go with Suicune. These Pokemon have high durability. Thus, they’re not easy to defeat, especially by those who haven’t got any Pokemon with high CP (Combat Power).

However, we can outwit Giovanni’s army by using certain Pokemon. First, in fighting Persian, use a Pokemon with a Fighting charge moves that can be quickly recharged.

For example, Lucario with Power-Up Punch and Machamp with Cross Chop. Why do you need fast-recharge movesets? Because in every Charge Moves or Switch animation breaks, Giovanni’s Pokemon will freeze for about 2 seconds.

This Freeze is what we’re going to utilize to collect energies, making charge moves, and making them froze again. This technique will make Giovanni lose shield at the beginning of the battle, so you’ll be able to hit the Pokemon in the back with no shield getting in the way.

As for the second Pokemon, use Whiscash, since it has quickly-recharged movesets, Mud Shot and Mud Bomb. Whiscash is highly effective against Nidoking, cause Nidoking is a Poison-type.

Even against Garchomp and Dugtrio, if you’ve saved up enough energy, you can hit using Blizzard that will certainly make Garchomp and Dugtrio fainted or even dying since they are vulnerable toward Ice.

In dealing with the third Pokemon, Suicune who’s a Water-type, you may want to use Shiftry with the movesets Bullet Seed and Leaf Tornado since they will weaken Suicune’s attacks.

However, you need to be cautious, if Suicune is using an Ice moveset, you can switch to other Pokemon, like Ferrothorn with Bullet Seed and Power Whip. If you can defeat Giovanni, you’ll have the chance of capturing the Legendary Shadow Pokemon, Suicune.

Take notice of the time when going up against Giovanni, don’t waste your time and prepare your Pokemon Storage. You may lose your chance of getting Suicune if Giovanni’s hot air balloon time is up.
