Primal Kyogre was officially released alongside the Pokemon GO Hoenn Tour 2023 event, which was held from 18-19 February 2023 in Las Vegas, United States. Participants who have purchased tickets could take part in the Hoenn Tour Las Vegas and encounter Raid Primal Kyogre.
For participants who managed to defeat Primal Raid Kyogre, they would get Primal Energy Kyogre, which can be used to perform Primal Reversion on their Kyogre. Not only that, after defeating Primal Kyogre, Trainers can also get the opportunity to catch Kyogre, who has a new Water-type move, Origin Pulse. If you're in luck, you can also receive Shiny Kyogre from the Primal Raid.
So, what about Pokemon GO Trainers who didn't get the chance to take part in the Hoenn Tour event in Las Vegas? Don't worry, as this global event will be available from 25-26 February 2023 for all Pokemon GO Trainers around the world. This event was FREE, so anyone could take part in it. You could also encounter Raid Primal Kyogre during that event.
So, what are the best tips for defeating Primal Kyogre in Primal Raid Battles? Primal Kyogre is of the Water type, so it's susceptible to Grass and Electric-type attacks. If you use both types, you'll receive a 160% damage boost.
You should consider using Pokemon such as Mega Sceptile, Kartana, Xurkitree, Zarude, Zekrom, Mega Venusaur, Therian Thundurus, Shadow Raikou, or Shadow Electivire. If you don't have those super counters yet, use the more common alternatives such as Roserade, Chesnaught, Magnezone, etc.
To beat Primal Kyogre, you should fight it with 5 friends with powerful lineups of Pokemon. If you're not sure, try to play with as many friends as possible, so you can ensure victory against Primal Kyogre.
After successfully defeating Primal Kyogre, you will receive Primal Energy and Kyogre with a maximum CP of 2351 (Level 20) or a maximum CP of 2939 (Level 25) during the Rainy weatherboost. If you're lucky, you can even receive the purple Shiny Kyogre.
In one Primal Raid Battle victory during the Hoenn Tour, Trainers would usually get around 80 Mega Energy. Whereas to do Primal Reversion on Kyogre takes 400 Primal Energy. This means you have to win the Primal Kyogre Raid several times to get enough Primal Energy. After that, you can only do Primal Reversion on your Kyogre.
With the release of the Origin Pulse moveset for Kyogre at this event, Primal Kyogre is the strongest Water-type Attacker in Pokemon GO! Maximum level Primal Kyogre can reach CP 6,500. Not only that, but when your Primal Kyogre is active, the Water, Electric, and Bug Pokemon that fight alongside Primal Kyogre will also get stronger.
Primal Kyogre is certainly a great Pokemon to have in your lineup as it's incredibly powerful. Good luck hunting for Primal Kyogre during this event, Trainers!
