SRG OG have drawn attention ahead of MPL MY Season 15. As the reigning champions, Selangor Red Giants have still been considered the strongest team in the region.

What has added to the mystery is that the team have virtually disappeared from the competitive scene since the M-Series. They have not participated in any tournaments following their failure to qualify for the ESL Mobile Masters some time ago.

No one has known the current strength of SRG OG. Only teams that have scrimmed with them might have had a glimpse—and none of those results have been made public so far.

Recently, SRG have officially entered a collaboration with OG. While the partnership has not been aimed at EWC—since collaboration teams are ineligible for any benefits there—it has clearly served a greater purpose.

SRG have also opted out of IESF qualifiers, further signaling their seriousness in preparing for the EWC.

In a podcast with Abang Lord, SRG executive Simon shared some intriguing insights.

SRG OG Could Be Coached by Dota 2 Legend

During the conversation, Simon pointed out a growing trend: several teams have started recruiting former Dota 2 players as coaches for their MLBB teams.

This trend has already seen success in the Indonesian scene. With SRG now collaborating with OG—a brand deeply rooted in Dota 2—Simon has seized the opportunity.

“The current trend in coaching has been to recruit talent from the Dota 2 scene. This coaching package has been around since M6. Every team now seems to have a coach with a Dota 2 background,” he said.

“So I’ve spoken with OG to ask if we could borrow one of their Dota 2 coaches to provide input for SRG’s MLBB division.”

“Whether it’s gameplay insights or anything else—they agreed. They said they could make it happen and are currently discussing it internally. They’ll be sending someone soon.”

“That would be great. Maybe Ceb as an assistant coach?” he added with a grin.

Has this meant that Ceb will officially join SRG as assistant coach? Nothing has been confirmed yet, and there’s no official statement. But what’s clear is that SRG have already made this part of their plan. If not Ceb, then perhaps another figure with a strong Dota 2 background may soon join the ranks.
