Alter Ego announced that they will not be continuing their participation in the Valorant Challengers 2025 competition. The team officially released all of its players, namely Nakya, Gotten, Cud, Sayoo, Adrnking, and Asterisk as Coach.
“Thank you all who have kept supporting us in Valorant, it's just not fortunate yet, we tried for years. But it doesn't rule out the possibility that we'll comeback and try next year,” wrote Alter Ego CEO, Delwyn Sukamto, in Alter Ego's post.
Reason for Disbanding Valorant Division
On the other hand, the CEO also mentioned the big reason why his party decided to disband the division that had been long enough and produced many achievements for Alter Ego.
“Why did we disband the VALORANT division? Because our chances of moving up to the [VCT] franchise league are really small, guys. There's almost no way we can qualify this year after not making the playoffs in Split 2,” Delwyn said as quoted from Valo2Asia.
Yep, as we know, Alter Ego Valorant experienced a decline in performance at Valorant Challengers SEA Split 2. Asterisk's team failed to qualify for the playoffs and secure more circuit points to qualify for Ascension 2025 and advance to VCT Pacific according to their target.
This result is a far cry from Alter Ego's performance in previous years, where they were champions of VALORANT Challengers 2024 Indonesia: Split 1 and APAC Predator League 2025, when they still had Ray4c, Valdyn, Kush, Gotten, and Cud.
