The playable characters in Final Fantasy VII continue to grow. Through its official X (Twitter) account, Square Enix revealed that Cid Highwind will be the next playable character in the game. Cid himself is a character from the original Final Fantasy VII series.

Cid can be played starting January 15, 2025 at the beginning of chapter 8 in the story. Because Cid's announcement is still very new, his weapons and fighting equipment are not yet known. The latest trailer shows Cloud and his group meeting Cid for the first time and gaining access to Tiny Bronco.

We can also see Cid launching one of his attacks in battle, which highlights his 3D model for the first time. At the end of the trailer, it is explained that the storyline will also include some interesting things such as Gold Saucer's date with Aerith and Tifa.
