Coach Yeb has officially made his comeback, and the timing couldn’t have been more crucial. With ONIC Esports struggling throughout MPL ID Season 15, alarm bells had already been ringing.

Currently sitting in seventh place with a 4-5 record, ONIC has not looked like the dominant team fans have known. This is far from the usual standards of a squad that typically fights for an upper bracket playoff spot.

Inconsistency has plagued the team. Drafting decisions have been questioned, and veteran players like Kiboy and Sanz have shown signs of decline in performance.

As always, Adi has been scapegoated. It’s become a recurring pattern for the ONIC coach to take the blame whenever the team performs below expectations.

That was until ONIC made a surprising announcement ahead of Week 6 of MPL ID S15 — Coach Yeb has returned to the stage.

Yeb, who has served as ONIC's Head of Esports, has stepped in as interim head coach. Adi has moved into an assistant coach role, meaning Yeb will now be working alongside Greed on stage to lead drafts and in-game strategies.

Coach Yeb’s Return Could Make a Major Impact

MPL ID caster and analyst KB has shared his thoughts on Coach Yeb’s comeback. In his view, the move could be a crucial turning point in fixing ONIC’s ongoing issues this season.

Despite their current form, ONIC has shown strength in the early game throughout the season. However, they have repeatedly lost direction in the mid to late game. Laning management has also been highlighted as a persistent problem.

“Can this move solve ONIC’s problem? Honestly, their early game has been really strong,” said KB.

“It’s just the mid game — sometimes the mid trio loses out, the damage dealer isn’t ready, and Sanz and Kiboy have already committed to an initiation. I believe with Yeb back, the team will play with more discipline.”

“At the end of the day, Coach Yeb is not a magician who can fix everything in a week. But I do believe he can bring a positive impact. During his era, ONIC won multiple championships,” KB concluded.
