Anime and manga fans definitely can't wait for the return of the Comic Frontier exhibition. The doujin (independent works) exhibition Comic Frontier 18 is ready to welcome back independent creators and pop culture fans. This event will be held on Saturday and Sunday 11-12 May 2024 and will be held at Hall 7-10 ICE BSD, Pagedangan, Tangerang.

Comic Frontier or Comifuro for short is an exhibition event for doujin (independent works) which is a creative forum for doujinshi artists. Doujinshi is a Japanese term that means "self-published work". Doujinshi artists generally work collectively in groups called 'circles'. Having a common interest in a type of work is the driving motivation for the gathering of circles participating in this event.

The works created by circles at Comic Frontier 18 are also quite diverse. Starting from comics, illustrations, novels, music, and virtual content, to games and animation, everything can be found at the Comifuro 18 event. Most of the circles involved are involved in creating derivative works from a particular fandom. However, quite a few also create works from their original IP (Intellectual Property).

The event itself will be held in 4 ICE BSD Halls starting from Hall 7 to 10. Each hall is divided into several special areas. Visitors will enter the Comic Frontier 18 area through Hall 10 which is the Corporate Area. After that, entering Hall 8-9, visitors will be greeted by the Circle Market Area. In Hall 7, various main events are held in the Main Stage area.

Corporate & Community Area at Hall 10

Hall 10 will be an area for Corporate Booths and a place for the pop culture community to gather. Various companies are operating in the creative industry involved in attending this event. Starting from creative studios, and hobby shops, Indonesian video game developers took part in this event.

One of the main destinations in this area is the Bushiroad Expo area. This area displays various products and works from a well-known IP producer from Japan, namely Bushiroad. Not only showcasing products, the Bushiroad Expo also presents guest stars from Japan. Starting from anime voice actors to illustrators for Trading Card Games will enliven this area.

Apart from visiting creative exhibitions from the Corporate Booths, visitors can also meet with the community in Hall 10. Various communities participate in this event, from comic communities, and games, to transportation observer communities. Visitors can also show themselves off in various activities held at Activity Stage Hall 10.

Circle Market Area at Hall 8-9

The main area of the Circle Market is in Halls 8-9 and is a place for Circle Doujinshi who attend to display their creative works. Not only local creators, but several Doujinshi creators from abroad are also present at Comic Frontier 18. The types of works sold also vary, from derivative products of certain fandoms to IP and original works made by independent creators.

Transaction activities in this area take place from 09:30 to 17:00 WIB. To maintain security and comfort, visitors are not allowed to crowd and cover road access in this area. This rule also applies to Cosplayers who are prohibited from carrying out Cosplay photo shoots and gatherings in this area.

Main Stage Area at Hall 7

Selected creators and guest stars from within and outside the country were present to enliven Comic Frontier 18 on the Main Stage. The Main Stage area is in Hall 7 ICE BSD which is the area at the very end of this event. This is where the main guest stars appear to meet their fans ranging from comic artists, voice actors, and musicians, to VTubers (Virtual YouTubers).

The panel discussion activity, which is a forum for discourse for the community and pop culture observers, was held again. Different from previous Comic Frontiers, the panel discussion at Comifuro 18 was held in a separate room. This room is at the Hall 7 Ticket Counter which is not far from the main stage. This discussion can be followed by general visitors who will discuss various topics related to pop culture.

Apart from being the Main Stage area in Hall 7, visitors can also take a break to eat and drink in the F&B Area. Not only that, visitors and Cosplayers can also use the changing rooms and luggage storage in this area.

FREE Shuttle Bus for Visitors

To accommodate visitors attending this event, Comic Frontier 18 provides a fleet of buses. This bus fleet functions as a Shuttle Bus on the route Cisauk Intermodal Terminal - Hall 10 ICE BSD (Round Trip). Visitors can use this Shuttle Bus for FREE. The operational time for this Shuttle Bus starts at 07:00 WIB until 20:00 WIB. This Shuttle Bus can be used by visitors by accessing the Cisauk Intermodal Terminal which is connected to the Cisauk KRL Station.

Purchasing Comifuro 18 Tickets Online

Comic Frontier 18 tickets can be purchased online. The entrance ticket price is Rp75,000 (excluding platform fees and tax fees). Tickets can be purchased via the Ticket 2 U platform by accessing the following link: comifuro.net.

Visitors are advised to purchase tickets before attending the venue. During the event, there will be no direct ticket purchases at the ticket counter. The ticket counter in the event area functions as a ticket exchange point.

All ticket purchases are made online via Ticket 2 U until the event ends and while supplies last. After making a purchase, please save the QR Code received to make the ticket exchange process easier on the day of the event. Ticket exchange time starts at 09:00 WIB on Saturday and Sunday, 11 and 12 May 2024.

Comic Frontier is a creative market event that has been held since 2012. When it was first held, Comic Frontier only accommodated 35 creative circles to join.
