RRQ Reveals Effective Counter to Jawhead Roamer

Jawhead Roamer is number 1 META in Competitive Scene right now.

A reliable counter to the Jawhead roamer strategy has finally been demonstrated. Jawhead remains one of the most prioritized heroes in Mobile Legends tournaments, serving as one of the best pick-off options due to his unique attributes.

Alongside Akai and Guinevere, Jawhead stands out for his ability to accelerate jungle farming thanks to his substantial early-game damage against jungle creeps.

A standard Jawhead play pattern involves securing one of the jungler's buffs immediately after the first jungle rotation, enabling faster rotations compared to teams without him.

This advantage is further amplified by Jawhead’s perfect synergy with Chou, creating a deadly pick-off combo that opponents often struggle to handle.

Fortunately, RRQ recently showcased how to effectively counter the Jawhead roamer strategy. Since teams relying on Jawhead must dominate early game, disrupting his rotations can cripple their entire game plan.

How RRQ Countered Jawhead Roamer

RRQ executed a brilliant move against Falcons PH by predicting their Jawhead’s rotation. Knowing Falcons would prioritize buff control, RRQ adapted perfectly.

Idok, playing Badang, was tasked with invading the purple buff zone, immediately revealing Jawhead’s likely position at the red buff.

Meanwhile, Sutsujin on Hayabusa, assisted by Rinz, ambushed the red buff area, stealing it right before KyleTzy could secure it with Retribution.

This single play disrupted KyleTzy’s entire rotation, delaying his Level 4 spike and rendering Falcons’ Jawhead (Owgwen) ineffective. Confused and outmaneuvered, Falcons struggled to respond to RRQ’s aggressive early-game pressure.

Can This Work in Ranked?

Yes—this strategy is replicable in ranked matches. The key is recognizing that Jawhead roamers typically follow a predictable early-game pattern.

However, success depends on coordination:

  • Your Mid Laner and Roamer must understand the plan and commit to early aggression.

  • Timing is critical—delaying or mistiming the invade makes the strategy far less effective.

RRQ’s execution proves that even meta-defining picks like Jawhead can be countered with smart, aggressive plays. Will we see more teams adopt this approach in future matches? Only time will tell.
