In the world of Naruto, there are 7 Legendary Swords that originated from Kirigakure. All of these swords have their own amazing and unique abilities, such as the ability to regenerate itself or suck the enemy’s chakra. What are they? And who are the swords’ owners? Let’s check out this article!

1. Kubikiribocho

Kubikiribocho is one of the first legendary swords known by the fans of Naruto. A giant sword with a butcher-knife-like design specifically made to be a weapon to decapitate the opponent's head. The wielder can use the hole on the sword to hold the opponent’s head before decapitating them. Kubikiribocho has a unique ability to regenerate the broken part using the iron absorbed from its victim’s blood.

The sword’s owners:

• Zabuza Momochi
• Suigetsu Hozuki, the member of Taka
• Juzo Biwa, the member of Akatsuki
• Mangetsu Hōzuki, Suigetsu’s brother
• Hassaku Onomichi, only appear in Boruto anime

2. Samehada

It has literal meaning of “Shark Skin”, Samehada is the most terrifying of the seven swords of Kirigakure, because it has a consciousness and has the ability to suck chakra of anyone who touches it. Even Kisame who used Samehada for a long time can merged and transformed into a half-human half-shark.

• Kisame Hoshigaki, the member of Akatsuki
• Killer Bee, Jinchuuriki Gyuuki
• Fuguki Suikazan
• Mangetsu Hōzuki
• White Zetsu
• Shizuma Hoshigaki, only appear in Boruto anime

3. Nuibari

The name means “Sewing Needle”. And it has similar appearance and function as needle, where the wielders are able to penetrate the enemies’ bodies and sew them together. With its long and flat shape, this sword resembles a fencing sword.

The sword’s owners:

• Kushimaru Kuriarare
• Mangetsu Hōzuki
• Hebiichigo, only appear in Boruto anime

4. Kabutowari

Kabutowari means “Helmet Splitter”, which is a Japanese word for helmet is “kabuto.” At first glance, this unique blade is more suitable to be called as an axe with a hammer at its back. It is said it is capable of crushing all defences.

The sword’s owners:

• Jinin Akebino
• Mangetsu Hōzuki
• Kyohō Fuefuki, only appear in Boruto anime

5. Shibuki

A weird sword which covered with explosive tags, combining the swordsmanship and explosions. It has literal meaning “Splash”, which most likely refers to “splash” of fire (explosion) that it can cause.

The sword’s owners:

• Jinpachi Munashi
• Mangetsu Hōzuki
• Ichirōta Oniyuzu, only appear in Boruto anime

6. Kiba

Just like Naruto’s friend, he and this sword means “Fangs”. This twin swords has the power of lightning which increases their cutting power. This sword is said to be the sharpest swords ever forged. This sword seemed to have several branches that could extend its range of attack.

• Ameyuri Ringo
• Raiga Kurosuki
• Mangetsu Hōzuki
• Buntan Kurosuki,  only appear in Boruto anime

7. Hiramekarei

The unique double-handled sword that is capable of storing chakra and using it to change the shape of the sword itself. It can be a regular big sword or even a hammer. The more chakra it stored, the more varied and bigger the weapons formed by Hiramekarei. This sword is also known as “Twinsword” because it can be separated into two separate swords.

The sword’s owners:

• Chojuro, The Sixth Mizukage
• Mangetsu Hōzuki
• Kagura Karatachi, only appear in Boruto anime
