Starting in 2024, Garena introduced the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) SEA competition for the Southeast Asia region. The FFWS SEA is a competitive platform for Free Fire teams in Southeast Asia (SEA), replacing the national-level competitions held in their respective countries. While previously there were several professional leagues in various countries, the FFWS SEA is a league that brings together all the best Free Fire teams in Southeast Asia (SEA).

A total of 18 top teams from Southeast Asia (SEA) are participating in the FFWS SEA, including those from Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia. The FFWS SEA champion will have the opportunity to advance to global competitions, including the Free Fire Esports World Cup (EWC FF) and the FFWS Global Finals at the end of the year. The FFWS SEA champion will also receive a trophy and a cash prize of US$100,000.

To date, four Free Fire World Championships (FFWS) SEA events have been held throughout 2024-2025, divided into two competition series: Spring and Fall. This means three teams have won the FFWS SEA championship to date. Furthermore, some teams have set a new record as back-to-back FFWS SEA champions.

List of FFWS SEA Champions Over Time

Before revealing the Free Fire teams that have won the FFWS SEA championship over time, it's important to note that several FFWS SEA events have been held throughout 2024-2025.

Here is the complete list of FFWS SEA champions:

1. FFWS SEA 2024 Spring Champion - Team Falcons

In the first FFWS SEA competition series, FFWS SEA 2024 Spring, the competition still used the old format (without Champion Rush). This competition also introduced a new competition destination to the participating teams: the Free Fire Esports World Cup (EWC FF), held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Two teams dominated the FFWS SEA 2024 Spring Grand Final: Team Falcons and EVOS.

However, with consistent and aggressive gameplay from Peter and his teammates, Team Falcons ultimately emerged as the FFWS SEA 2024 Spring champion with a total of 124 points. P Esports followed in second place with a total of 99 points, and Buriram United Esports came in third with 97 points. Other teams, including EVOS, Stalwart Esports, Reverse Red, ONIC, Indostars, and RRQ Kazu, all qualified for the Free Fire Esports World Cup (EWC FF).

2. FFWS SEA 2024 Fall Champion - Buriram United Esports

The second FFWS SEA competition series, FFWS SEA 2024 Fall, continued with the old format (without Champion Rush). Unlike the Spring series, this competition's next destination was the FFWS Global Finals, held in Bangkok, Thailand. This competition series also marked the peak performance of the Thai teams in Surabaya, Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian teams struggled to compete in the Grand Final. The battle of wits between Team Falcons, the FFWS SEA 2024 Spring champions, and Buriram United Esports, was a fascinating highlight. Furthermore, two other Thai teams, Twisted Minds and Attack All Around, also tried to counter the Falcons' and Buriram's dominance. Ultimately, Buriram United Esports emerged victorious in the FFWS SEA 2024 Fall. Meanwhile, Indonesian and other teams advanced to the FFWS Global Finals.

3. FFWS SEA 2025 Spring Champion - ONIC

In the third FFWS SEA competition series, FFWS SEA 2025 Spring, the competition adopted a new format (with Champion Rush). Previously, teams had been familiarized with the new format through a pre-season competition titled "FFWS SEA Pre-Season." Interestingly, this new format truly pushed all teams to their full potential. There were match points to chase and BOOYAHs to be won.

Teams like Buriram United Esports, Bigetron by Vitality, All Gamers Global, and RRQ Kazu were all racing to win BOOYAH and secure Champion Rush points. However, as the matches progressed to Game 9, ONIC ultimately emerged victorious at the FFWS SEA 2025 Spring, making history for Indonesia as the first Indonesian FFWS SEA champion and the first to successfully utilize the new Champion Rush format.

4. FFWS SEA 2025 Fall Champions - Team Falcons

The fourth FFWS S4EA competition series, FFWS SEA 2025 Fall, adopted a new format (with Champion Rush). This season saw intense competition, as Indonesia dominated the previous series, including winning FFWS SEA 2025 Spring and the Free Fire Esports World Cup (EWC FF) 2025 with ONIC and EVOS Divine.

Held in Bangkok, Thailand, this was certainly a breath of fresh air, bringing a resurgence to Thai Free Fire teams. Indeed, the competition was fierce from the start, with all teams striving for BOOYAH to earn more points and reach Champion Rush. In the Grand Final, many teams achieved BOOYAH. However, Team Falcons ultimately emerged as the FFWS SEA 2025 Fall champions, winning both the CS and BR modes.
