MPL ID S17 Roster Rumors and the Stories Behind Each Transfer
The transfer market ahead of MPL ID Season 17 has continued to heat up, with several confirmed moves and high-profile rumors shaping the competitive landscape. Each roster change has carried its own story, motivation, and strategic implication, making this offseason one of the most eventful in recent MPL history.
Super Kenn from BTR to RRQ (CONFIRMED)
The arrival of Super Kenn at RRQ has come as one of the fastest and most surprising announcements of the offseason. Initially, very few had expected Kenn—who had competed at M7 with DFYG—to become part of RRQ. However, it has been widely believed that Super Kenn has strongly desired to join RRQ and to be coached once again by Khezcute.
According to sources from Dunia Games, Khezcute has remained curious about Super Kenn’s potential after having coached him during the early stages of his career at Bigetron. This reunion has therefore been viewed as a second chapter, driven by unfinished business and mutual trust.
Dan from RRQ Kaito to RRQ Hoshi (CONFIRMED)
The signing of Dan, a Filipino player, to RRQ Hoshi has also taken many by surprise. In Indonesia, almost no one had known who Dan was prior to the announcement. As the EXP Laner from RRQ Kaito who had previously played for Smart Omega Neos, Dan has successfully passed RRQ’s trials and earned a spot on the main roster.
Although the move has initially felt uncertain, RRQ has seemingly aimed to replicate a similar success story to Qinn’s journey with Dewa United Esports last season—an under-the-radar pickup that eventually delivered strong results.
Kelra from ONIC PH to ONIC ID (CONFIRMED)
At first, very few people had believed the rumors surrounding Kelra’s move to ONIC ID—until Dunia Games managed to secure valid information. Kelra has officially been announced, confirming one of the biggest transfers ahead of MPL ID S17.
Only two simple reasons have convinced Kelra to compete in Indonesia: the opportunity to play alongside Kairi and the desire to learn the Indonesian language. Despite sounding straightforward, this move has become the most impactful transfer so far in MPL ID S17.
Samuel from ONIC Prime to ONIC ID (CONFIRMED)
After spending multiple seasons in MDL with ONIC Prodigy—later rebranded as ONIC Prime—Samuel has finally been given his long-awaited opportunity. Logically, displacing Kiboy has seemed almost impossible.
However, considering Kiboy’s hand condition and ONIC’s failure at M7, a role adjustment has been viewed as necessary. Allowing Samuel to gain experience at the top level has been considered the most reasonable path forward for ONIC at this stage.
Skylar on Break
News of Skylar taking a break has emerged at the same time as Kelra’s announcement. Questions and drama have quickly followed. Fans have debated whether Skylar has chosen to rest voluntarily or has been sidelined by ONIC.
The situation has been partially clarified after Skylar’s wife, Dyffa, stated that Skylar has indeed wanted to spend more time with his family. This explanation has provided context, though discussions have continued.
Adi from ONIC ID to AG Global (RUMORED)
Dunia Games has exclusively reported a rumor that Adi is set to join AG Global, a team rumored to be competing in MPL MY S17. As a major Chinese-backed organization, AG Global has reportedly prepared a significant investment and has positioned Adi as the centerpiece of their roster.
Yehezkiel from TLID to EVOS (RUMORED)
Exclusive information from Dunia Games has also indicated that Yehezkiel has emerged as EVOS’s desired target. During the final week of EVOS trials between February 2–7, Yehezkiel has reportedly impressed enough to stand out, especially after no one had managed to outperform Swaylow in earlier trials.
Despite this progress, negotiations have reportedly remained tough, and the move has still had the potential to be structured as a loan rather than a permanent transfer.
Luke from TLID to EVOS (RUMORED)
Similar to Yehezkiel, Luke has also been believed to have passed EVOS’s final trial stage. However, negotiations have once again proven complicated. EVOS and Bigetron have reportedly not yet reached an agreement, leaving the transfer unresolved.
Widy from TLID to AG Global (RUMORED)
Sources from Malaysia have informed Dunia Games that AG Global has been extremely serious about building a competitive roster. Widy has reportedly been identified as a primary target and as a leader capable of guiding the team both in-game and outside of it.
Aeronshikii from TLID to AG Global (RUMORED)
One of the latest rumors obtained by Dunia Games has suggested that Widy may not be alone. Aeron has reportedly been considered as a potential companion at AG Global. This move could become a massive transfer for MPL MY, especially given Aeron’s strong engagement and popularity beyond the game itself.
