Denuvo Develops Software to Protect F2P Games
Now Denuvo is expanding its business by developing security software for free-to-play games.
News | 07 July
Denuvo is not a new name for PC gamers. This anti-piracy software design company is well known for its reputation as an antidote to hackers and illegal gamers. Apparently, Denuvo is developing new software aimed at protecting games with the F2P business model.
Citing from the official blog, Denuvo's new product is called Denuvo SecureDLC. This software will later protect paid content such as DLC or microtransactions which are usually implemented in F2P games.
According to Denuvo, the software they designed should be used by developers who make F2P games. The reason is that many irresponsible parties can penetrate the protection system from paid content and can enjoy the content for free. Such behavior is considered to be detrimental to the financial side of the developer.
One of the paid content that gets the spotlight from Denuvo is cosmetic items from the game Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. In this game, cosmetic items are a source of income for developers, so they need to be protected from irresponsible parties.
