The team that had long been underestimated has now transformed into one of the most serious title contenders in MPL ID S17. It has not only been about match results, but also about the way they have played. Dewa have looked aggressive, disciplined, and extremely aware of how to control objectives.

Interestingly, before the season even started, there had already been many rumors about Dewa United’s terrifying scrim performances. Several pro players had even called them one of the scariest teams during practice sessions. On the other hand, many people still doubted whether those performances could truly appear on the MPL stage.

One of Dewa United’s strongest identities this season has been their incredibly aggressive early-game approach. Dewa do not like playing slowly. They always try to dictate the tempo from the very first minute and force opponents to play under pressure.

That statistic has even surpassed other aggressive teams such as Alter Ego and Bigetron. While many teams still try to read their opponents in the early game, Dewa immediately play fast and look for opportunities to punish enemies.

Their early-game dominance has also greatly impacted their objective control. Dewa currently hold the highest average Turtle Kill statistic in MPL ID S17, with 1.7 Turtles per game.

That Turtle dominance has been extremely important because it has allowed their economy to stay ahead almost every game. Once the gold difference has been established, Dewa have become incredibly difficult to stop.

They truly understand how to snowball. After gaining an advantage, Dewa rarely give opponents room to breathe. Their rotations have been fast, their lane pressure has remained consistent, and objectives have always become the top priority.

The impact of all this has also been visible in their match duration statistics. Dewa have become the fastest team in MPL ID S17 in terms of Average Game Duration, finishing games in only 14 minutes and 52 seconds.

That means teams facing Dewa often never get the chance to enter the late game. Many matches have already ended before the 15-minute mark because Dewa’s pressure has been overwhelming since the early game.

That is what has made Dewa feel so terrifying this season. They have not only been winning, but they have been winning with extremely fast tempo and relentless pressure.

QINN Has Become the Brain of Dewa’s Teamfights

Behind Dewa United’s aggression, there has been one very important name controlling the team’s tempo: QINN.

The Filipino EXP laner has slowly developed into one of the most influential players in MPL ID S17. Since joining Dewa last season, QINN had already shown huge potential. This season, however, his level has risen dramatically.

QINN has not only been mechanically strong. He has also possessed a very mature understanding of teamfights. Many of Dewa’s victories have come from the smart initiations he has created.

The community has even started using the term “Qinnsanity” because of his insane performances in the EXP lane. He often opens teamfights with perfect timing and instantly destroys the opponent’s backline.

His statistics have also looked extremely impressive. QINN has recorded the highest average assist among all EXP laners in MPL ID S17 with 6.9 assists per game and a total of 159 assists.

Those numbers have shown how massive his contribution has been to the team. Almost every Dewa kill has involved him.

What makes it even more impressive is that QINN has not only become a teamfight initiator. He has also continued producing massive damage. His Damage per Minute statistic has reached 2,520, the second-highest among all EXP laners in the league.

That means QINN has been able to perform two roles at once: initiator and additional damage source.

This combination has made Dewa incredibly difficult to read. When opponents focus on shutting down Octa or Maybee, QINN often becomes the main difference-maker in teamfights.

It would not be an exaggeration to call QINN one of the biggest reasons why Dewa have transformed into an elite team this season.

Dolynn Has Become an Objective Monster

If QINN has been the brain of Dewa’s gameplay, then Dolynn has become their deadliest executor this season.

His rookie status has barely been visible from the way he plays. Dolynn has looked extremely calm and efficient as Dewa United’s main jungler.

One of Dolynn’s greatest strengths has been his objective control. He truly understands Retribution timing and has been fearless when taking risks around Turtle and Lord areas.

That has been proven by his Turtle Steal statistics. Dolynn has already recorded eight Turtle steals throughout MPL ID S17, making him one of the league leaders in that category.

This means that even when Dewa fall behind, they still have opportunities to turn games around thanks to Dolynn’s objective instincts.

On top of that, he has also been extremely active in destroying enemy turrets. Dolynn has secured a total of 19 turrets, tied for the highest in the league alongside Andoryuuu.

That statistic has shown that Dolynn is not a jungler who only focuses on farming or securing kills. He truly plays for the team’s overall victory.

His kill productivity has also been extremely high. Dolynn has averaged 4.5 kills per game, making him one of the deadliest junglers in MPL ID S17.

It has not stopped there. He has also become one of the best junglers in terms of Lord control this season. He has secured a total of 24 Lords throughout the regular season so far.

With all those statistics, it has become very clear that Dolynn is no longer just an ordinary rookie. He has developed into one of the most complete junglers in MPL ID S17.

Dewa United are no longer an underestimated team. They have transformed into a top-tier squad with a very strong gameplay identity.

With performances like these, it would not be surprising if Dewa truly become one of the biggest threats in the MPL ID S17 championship race this season.
