The drama tells the story of a hotel owner's son (Junho 2PM) who falls in love with his own employee (YoonA SNSD). Their love story is very intriguing. The next Korean drama that also features a K-pop idol is Snowdrop. This drama instantly became the talk of social media because it stars Jisoo, a member of BLACKPINK. As we know, Jisoo has many fans worldwide. It's no wonder that Snowdrop became popular as fans eagerly anticipated Jisoo from BLACKPINK's acting.
Snowdrop tells the story of a North Korean spy posing as a student of German descent (Jung Hae-in) who ends up falling in love with an English Literature student at Hosu Women's University (Kim Ji-soo/ Jisoo BLACKPINK). Sadly, this drama has a tragic ending.
3. Hwarang
Hwarang is one of the Korean dramas that feature several K-pop idols, including V from BTS, Minho from SHINEE, and Hyungsik from ZE:A. Although this drama aired in 2016-2017, Hwarang remains available on streaming platforms like Netflix, Vidio, and iQIYI.
This drama tells the story of an elite group of young nobles in the Silla period, known as Hwarang. In addition to K-pop idols, Hwarang also stars other famous South Korean actors like Park Seo-jun, Go A-ra, Sung Dong-il, Do Ji-han, Seo Yea-ji, and Choi Won-young.
4. True Beauty
True Beauty revolves around the life of a high school student who is not naturally beautiful. However, she hides this by learning makeup from social media tutorials. Eventually, the entire school comes to admire her, including two handsome leading men (Eunwoo from ASTRO and Hwang In-youp).
This drama stars Cha Eun-woo, a member of the South Korean boyband ASTRO. He plays a smart and handsome high school student who is hard for any girl to approach. True Beauty remains a favorite among fans who rewatch it even though it first aired in 2021.
5. Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo
The last hit Korean drama starring K-pop idols is Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo. This drama features 3 K-pop idols: IU, Baekhyun from EXO, and Seohyun from SNSD. Even though it aired in 2016, this drama is still frequently discussed by fans.
In addition to its cast, Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo became popular for its love story, now a favorite genre for K-drama viewers. The drama, which blends the modern world with history, tells the story of a woman from the future (IU). She accidentally travels back in time to the Goryeo Dynasty period. She then falls in love with the 4th prince (Lee Joon-gi). Their love story is complicated, leading to unavoidable bloodshed.
