The large robots in the Gundam anime series are divided into two types, they are Gundam and Mobile Armors. Initially, all of the big robots were called Mobile Armors. However, a robot with a more sophisticated and up-to-date technology emerged, which was later called Gundam. So, Gundam is basically a Mobile Armor with technological uniqueness and advanced weaponry.

If we previously discussed the colossal sized Gundam, this time, we’re gonna discussed Mobile Armors. Here are six gigantic Mobile Armor that has appeared in the Gundam series!

6. MA-08 Big Zam

MA-08 Big Zam is a large-sized Mobile Armor developed by the Principality of Zeon. Big Zam appeared for the first time in the Mobile Suit Gundam anime. This giant robot was piloted by Dozle Zabi in the Battle of Solomon.

Due to its massiveness, Big Zam must sacrifice its mobility and focuses more on its weaponry and defense. Nevertheless, it can still be defeated by Gundam.

5. NZ-333 α (Alpha) Azieru 

Alpha Azieru became a Mobile Armor designed for pilots with Newtype abilities. Quess Praya is the only pilot of this Mobile Armor. Alpha Azieru has a system called Psycommu System, which allows Newtypes to control this Mobile Armor with their minds.

4. AMX-002 Neue Ziel

Neue Ziel is a Mobile Armor specialized for outer-space battles. Appeared in Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory, this Mobile Armor was piloted by the Nightmare of Solomon, Anavel Gato. In its appearance, Neue Ziel became the most advanced Mobile Armor ever made. The massive size is not a problem for its speed. 

3. Apsalus III

Apsalus III was made based on all of the test data from its predecessors, Apsalus I and Apsalus II, and increased in a way that the size of Apsalus III has doubled from the previous series. Its laser gun can be directed at will, making the area of attack very broad.

2. AMA-X7 Shambloo

The Mobile Armor commonly called Shambloo, is an amphibious robot, able to move at sea and on land. Shambloo is a Mobile Armor own by Neo Zeon and appears in the Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn anime. This huge robot is also equipped with the Psycommu System so that only Newtypes are able to control it.

1. NZ-999 Neo Zeong

Neo Zeong is not completely a Mobile Armor, but an additional giant armament for the Sinanju. This red Mobile Armor appeared in the final battle between Unicorn Gundam and Sinanju in the Third Neo Zeon War. Neo Zeong became the largest Mobile Armor ever existed in the Universal Century era.
