Genjutsu is a technique that uses chakra to allow the user to create an illusion that affects the brain and the five senses of the opponent. Since genjutsu is an illusion, the torture that suffered by the victim starting from being stabbed or being bind never happened to their “real body.”

6. Gengetsu Hozuki

The second Mizukage has a Kuchiyose of a giant clam. Through the fog produced by the clam, Gengetsu can create multiple body illusion; and hides them using the fog and make their chakra undetected. The technique is called Magen: Kijo no Rokaku.

5. Fukasaku dan Shima

The frog couple from the Myoboku Mountain fire a powerful genjutsu from the noise produced from their throat. The technique is called Gama Rinsho, Fukasaku and Shima can sing a melody and make anyone that hears it trapped in the genjutsu world. The victim will feel like they are tied by four giant frogs in the genjutsu world, rendering them unable to move.

4. Yakumo Kurama

As the last descendant of the Kurama Clan, Rakumo has a terrifying genjutsu. Using her genjutsu, she makes people around her believe what is on her paintings is a reality and experience everything -- including death if the illusion is too strong. The area of effect from her genjutsu is so wide that it affects the whole Konohagakure.

3. Itachi Uchiha

The owner of the Sharingan that can unleash Tsukuyomi. Those who are affected by Tsukuyomi experience one second in the real world as days or even years while trapped in the illusion world. The time difference between the two worlds and the torture suffered by the victim will destroy their mind; that might put them in a coma or even death.

2. Shisui Uchiha

Kotoamatsukami is a special ability of Shisui’s Sharingan. It brainwashes the victim through their subconscious and affects everybody within the visibility of Kotoamatsukami. Anyone affected by the genjutsu will do anything the user’s order unconsciously.

1. Kaguya Otsutsuki

The progenitor of Sharingan, the first owner of Rinne Sharingan, and also the first person to use Mugen Tsukuyomi to conquer the world. Kaguya uses the God Tree to reflect Rinne Sharingan to the moon and traps everybody in the world in a world of endless dream.

Even though Kaguya manages to calm the world filled with conflicts, the God Tree captures the people and absorb their chakra to produce a new Chakra Fruit. Those who are trapped slowly transforms into White Zetsu; that was planned to be an army for Kaguya to fend off the rest of the Otsutsuki Clan.
