Movies | 04 September
Deadpool is a humorous, happy-go-lucky and unpredictable character whom many people love, so much so that his two movies garner success and his reputation among fans pushes Marvel to have him appear in other movies or even as a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to encounter other characters like Spider-Man and Captain America.
With that said, Deadpool is also quite a mysterious character holding plenty of secrets, and Dunia Games is about to unveil 15 shocking facts about him that a lot of people might not know before. Find them out right here:
15. Incredible Regeneration Born from Science
Wade Wilson was just an ordinary human undergoing a scientific experiment, until he actually survives the experiments which results in him developing an incredible regeneration ability akin to the Mexican Salamander that can regrow his hands, arms, eyes, heart and even brain when needed, although the regeneration takes quite a long time.
14. Inspired by Deathstroke
Deadpool is a character that draws inspiration from Deathstroke, albeit funnier with everything else intact. They both have a similar background as a mercenary, similar superpower and even similar costume patterns with the only difference being that Deathstroke’s color tone is orange while Deadpool is red. Another interesting thing to note is that Deadpool’s original name is Wade Wilson while Deathstroke is Slade Wilson.
13. Cursed With Immortality
Immortality may be a curse to many people, but does it apply to Deadpool? Well, his impressive regeneration power is incredible to the point of turning into an immortal being, which becomes prevalent when Cable foresees Deadpool’s future and sees him being 800 years old and still kicking with no sign of aging.
12. Deadpool’s Mask Is Designed Digitally in the Movie
When Ryan Reynolds attempted to get the ideal body type to become Wade Wilson, an additional CGI enhancement was enforced upon his character, which is Deadpool’s mask. There are multiple scenes when Ryan Reynolds wears his mask and removes the mask to enhance his acting.
11. Deadpool’s Original Face in the Movie Is From Makeup
While the previous point emphasizes the usage of CGI enhancement on Deadpool, this one emphasizes makeup as the source for Deadpool’s messy face. Instead of using CGI, they apply thick and messy makeup on Deadpool’s face in the movie, so naturally Ryan Reynolds must persist in his acting as Wade Wilson without a mask.
10. Has Kind Heart
In contrast to Deathstroke who’s full of vengeance and cold heart, Deadpool is kind in nature and very loyal to his friend, something he establishes when saving his friends inside the X-Force and attempting to protect them at all cost. Additionally, he has a kind heart who cares a lot for his environment and has a strict code of not killing blindly even as a mercenary.
9. Frequently Dies and Survives
Deadpool holds the record for being the one character who dies more often than others, even some comedic deaths he intentionally does to himself. One time Deadpool feels like not in the mood and decides to blow himself up with gasoline and explosives out of sheer boredom in this life, yet he survives and continues living. Of course, that’s just one of many hundreds of deaths he has experienced in his life so far.

8. Once Murdered Marvel Universe Characters
The Marvel comic, Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe, depicts Deadpool as a test rabbit that leads to his insanity. In that state, he brutally murders the entire cast of Marvel characters, villains and superheroes, which sounds plausible considering Deadpool’s incredible combat prowess. In addition to them, he has also killed other fictional characters like the Three Musketeers and Moby Dick.
7. Loki Transforms Deadpool Into Tom Cruise
Wade Wilson has a terrifying face and he’s proud of it, but try to imagine if Loki transforms him into a good-looking character like Tom Cruise. In fact, it does happen in the Deadpool #37 comic where his face becomes Tom Cruise-alike and he’s called Thom Cruz at that time. But instead of being happy about it, Deadpool becomes depressed to the point of single-handedly destroying his face to reconstruct his face back to its former form.
6. Has Brilliant Mind
Despite being crazy, Deadpool is surprisingly a genius. His regeneration ability affects his brain cells and turns him into a genius in many things. Deadpool masters many languages like Germany, Spanish, Japanese and disability language, as well as mastering many strategies in combat, even the dumb ones.
5. Originally Intended As A Villain
Deadpool first appeared in The New Mutants comic in 1991 as a villain, though his appearance painted a new color in the Mutant world and garnered positive reviews from the fans. Since then, Deadpool switched into an anti-hero, not purely a superhero due to his erratic behaviors.
4. Deadpool Has A Daughter With Spider-Man
You read that right! The male Spider-Man has a daughter with the male Deadpool because why not? Anything can happen in Marvel, including the birth of their child as a result of genetic modification from Deadpool and Spider-Man’s DNA. She grows up to become a girl named Albeit who’s just as crazy as Deadpool while having Spider-Man’s spider superpowers.
3. His Regenerative Ability Renders His Mental Unstable
As previously stated, his regeneration causes immortality which drives him insane, and he doesn’t hesitate to kill himself knowing that he’s going to survive. This causes his mental state to be unstable and prone to depression, as well as being an unpredictable character for his opponents.
2. Incredible Resistance Toward Poison
Deadpool’s regenerative ability renders any poison in his body useless by halting the spread and neutralizing them, so much so that he doesn’t even have to try them out unlike Joker who tries a poison first.
1. Can Survive Without A Head
Dying and surviving numerous times are entirely possible for Deadpool, even if he’s headless. Still, while similar to Wolverine, his regenerative ability is much slower, as proven by that time Deadpool loses his entire head and is unable to see or speak a thing for a long time until he regrows his head.
