Even though the love story is quite simple, this school love story between Izumi Miyamura and Kyouko Hori is still a favorite of many anime fans. 1. The Title is Combination of the Protagonists' Name
The first interesting fact is that this anime title is taken by combining the last names of the two main characters, namely Hori and Miyamura, which then results in the title "Horimiya". Besides that, before airing in the anime adaptation, this series was first released under the title Hori-san to Miyamura-kun in the manga version.
2. A Manga by HERO
Horimiya is an anime based on a manga of the same title. The manga is by Hiroki Adachi who is usually known by the pen name HERO. Meanwhile, the illustration was done by Daisuke Hagiwara. The manga was first published by Square Enix on October 18, 2011, and ended on March 18, 2021, with a total of 129 chapters or 16 manga volumes.
Before finally being published under the title Horimiya manga by HERO, it turns out that this work had also been released under the title Hori-san To Miyamura-kun as a 4-panel web manga title in February 2007. Now, the original version was also written by HERO who doubles as directly the illustrator.
3. CloverWorks Works on the Anime Adaptation

In summer 2023, Horimiya: The Missing Piece, was aired and served as the second season of the anime. This season serves as the side story of the anime and shows the stories missing in the anime that appeared in the manga.
