Toward the release of the upcoming The Suicide Squad movie, fans are getting more restless as they anticipate the new characters appearing in it, including King Sharks whom Sylvester Stallone voices in. Not only is he the god of the sharks, King Sharks is also a figure with arguably the biggest power in the movie, hence he’s going to be a significant character in the movie.
In this article, Dunia Games intends to uncover many secrets and fun facts about King Sharks as we await for his appearance in The Suicide Squad movie down below.
10. King Sharks’ Origin
Born as Nanaue in Hawaii, King Sharks is the son of a sea god called Chondrakha who was originally a half-man, half-shark creature before mutating and evolving to become a perfect half human-shark hybrid. Of course, being the half-god that he is as well, King Sharks’ strength is really impressive and can rival even Superboy during his debut on Superboy Vol. 4 #0.
9. King Sharks Comes in Variants
The one behind King Sharks’ character, Karl Kesel has actually released a number of different variants to the character, including Hammerhead Shark who has similar genetic albeit with lesser strength to the half-god King Sharks. These half human-shark creatures have been featured in many DC comics with numerous variants to look for.
8. King Sharks First Appeared as Superboy’s Opponent
As previously mentioned, King Sharks debuted in the 1994 Superboy Vol. 4 #0, although as Superboy’s main opponent with a rather dark past. After King Sharks devours many tourists in Hawaii, the news attracts Superboy who arrives to battle the half human-shark hybrid and wins the battle outside of the sea.
7. Once Joined the Secret Six Organization
Secret Six is notorious for being an organization with many temporary members, although one of the more consistent and prominent members of the group is King Sharks who has contributed greatly in fighting other evil organizations, as well as helping Lex Luthor in combating a couple of superheroes and eradicating smaller, newly formed evil organizations.
6. First Ever Member of Suicide Squad
One bizarre thing from the first Suicide Squad movie is that Killer Crocs appears as the first member instead of King Sharks which the movie originally intended to. Additionally, King Sharks is known for his notable scene when the Suicide Squad has to explode the bomb on his belt and the king, who just joined the squad moments ago, manages to survive the explosion and regenerates his body parts back to normal really quickly.

5. King Sharks’ Heavy Sacrifice
In addition to the aforementioned incident that King Sharks has to endure when joining the Suicide Squad, he has lost his arm as he swallows defeat even after swallowing his arm, quite literally. Fortunately, like the previous case, his arm regenerates thanks to his regeneration ability.
4. Once Appeared Along With Haley’s Circus
Fans of DC comics are definitely familiar with Haley’s Circus which features performers like Dick Grayson and King Sharks, who surprisingly joined the troupe at one point by using his tremendous physical strength to play the role of the Strong Man and perform spectacular attractions.
3. King Sharks’ Nightmares
One of the failures King Sharks endures comes from that time he fails to obtain the “Hell Cards,” thus he receives his own version of hell as a result. The moment his teams are tortured to death, King Sharks is also tortured in a way that seems more like a vacation, in that he finds himself in a luxurious hotel with gorgeous women by his side but quickly finds that there’s no meat menu in the 100% vegetarian hotel restaurant despite the fact that he is a carnivore.
2. Has A Son Called Kid Sharks
Although appearing in the comics and spin-off animations within the Arkham Universe, King Sharks has yet to appear in the DC video games. On a brighter note, King Sharks has a biological son in that universe called Kid Sharks who looks more like a human with shark fangs rather than a total hybrid of half-human and half-shark.
1. Voiced by Sylvester Stallone
Something interesting to note is that King Sharks is going to have only a handful of dialogs in the upcoming The Suicide Squad movie, yet DC is going to pay a hefty amount for his dialogs due to the legendary actor Sylvester Stallone voicing the character in the same way Marvel Cinematic Universe does to Groot. Therefore, expect some iconic and surreal one-liners from him like that time he speaks “Birds” from The Suicide Squad’s trailer with Sylvester Stallone voicing the line.
