1. Often Having Different Members
The Defenders are a superhero group from Marvel Comics debuted in Marvel Feature #1 which was released in December 1971, with the leader being Doctor Strange and consisting of Hulk, Namor, and Silver Surfer. But in the next few years, the Marvel Defenders has another name and with its members change frequently in several series.
2. Founded by Defender Strange
Defender Strange is a variant of Doctor Strange who is the leader and the founder of the Marvel Defenders, and it is known that the Marvel Defenders are a group created by Defender Strange. Doctor Strange made The Defenders because his goal is to gather powerful people, with the hope that they can defeat Yandroth, the biggest threat to Marvel Defenders on Earth-11127.

9. One of the Members Was Crippled
Kyle Richmond or commonly known by his nickname, Nighthawk, is a superhero who relies on his flying abilities, but in one story, Nighthawk was injured which left him disabled, unable to fly, and even stand up. The paralyzed Nighthawk was forced to be in a wheelchair, and even so, he continued to carry out his heroic activities as a superhero and The Defenders.
10. Marvel Defenders Once Fought the Avengers
In the Avengers-Defenders Wars, Loki and Dormammu once manipulated circumstances which resulted in The Defenders and the Avengers having to fight each other. In several existing editions, the story often features a fight between members of the Defenders and the Avengers, such as the Hulk who was not an Avengers at that time against Thor who was a member of the Avengers.

Unlike the Avengers who have enemies or supervillains whose powers are cool and also have a sadistic appearance, The Defenders are known to have supervillains that are quite strange from other supervillains in Marvel. The Defenders name which has been officially stated is not the strongest name for the superhero team, because Thomas as the author stated that the name The Defenders is not as aggressive as some other superhero team names. In addition, it is not known until now who gave the idea to name The Defenders, even the late Stan Lee didn't remember naming The Defenders.
15. Has a Different Portrayal in the Comics and in the Live-Action
Don't take The Defenders in the Marvel comics with that in the live-action as the same thing, because the live-action has a different story from comics. For example their enemies, the members, and even Jessica Jones who actually has never been a member of The Defenders in the comics.
