Remember the scene where Kuma separated the Straw Hat crew on Sabaody? You might think that Kuma threw them all to random places. Actually, Kuma had thought of a suitable place for them. That's why the Straw Hats don't bounce anywhere without reason.

This was revealed in an interview by Eiichiro Oda with a Japanese YouTuber Fischer in 2019. It turns out that Kuma had been observing the entire Straw Hat crew and thought of the best place for them to train for 2 years. Without Kuma, surely the Straw Hat crew would not be as strong as they are now.

Without that training, maybe Luffy won't be able to beat Kaido. Luffy and his friends should thank Kuma if they meet him again. The reason Kuma did this was that Luffy was the son of Dragon who was his best friend in the Revolutionary Army.
