Webtoon and Manhwa (South Korean Comics) fans must be familiar with Solo Leveling. The comic itself, which is an adaptation of a web novel with 270 chapters of the same name, is said to be one of the best action fantasy comics today.

In addition to the exciting storyline and eye-catching artwork, the main character of Solo Leveling, Sung Jin-Woo, is one of the most liked characters by readers. Here are 10 interesting facts about Sung Jin-Woo in Solo Leveling!

1. Once Had a Poor Life

In chapter 1 of Solo Leveling manhwa, it was explained that the main reason why Jin-Woo became a Hunter was to pay for his mother's treatment at the hospital. He admitted that he did not have any talent so it was difficult to find another job.

Hunter is known as a very challenging job, but with a very high payment. However, as the lowest-ranked hunter, Jin-Woo still couldn't make as much money as he had hoped.

2. Had a Drastic Physical Change

After experiencing Reawakening, every day Jin-Woo had to complete the quest given by the 'System' to strengthen his physique by doing 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and running 10 km. This made his skinny body turn bulky in no time.

Apart from training his physique, Jin-Woo would get a reward from the 'System' if he completed his daily quest. But if he failed, Jin-Woo would be thrown into the 'Penalty Zone' where he had to survive the pursuit of dangerous monsters for 4 hours straight.

3. Almost Died too Many Times

In addition to his bitter experience in the Double Dungeon, Jin-Woo had also been close to death many times. When he was still an E-Rank Hunter, Jin-Woo was wounded so badly in the dungeon that he had to be hospitalized for weeks, or even nearly starve to death from getting lost in the dungeon.

4. Rose from E-Rank to S-Rank in 3 Months

Jin-Woo's intense training and dedication within the Dungeon had finally come to fruition. In just 3 months, Jin-Woo has crowned the Hunter with the highest rank, namely the S-Rank. He became South Korea's 10th S-Rank since Cha-Hae In 2 years ago.

When he was promoted to S-Rank, Jin-Woo's strength was far above other S-Rank Hunters, as evidenced during the South Korean and Japanese Hunter training sessions before the expedition to the S-Rank Dungeon, Jeju Island.

Jin-Woo's strength increased over time, even managing to defeat the United States National Hunter, Thomas Andre.

5. Rejected Invitation from Many Guild

In chapter 62, for the first time since being determined to enter E-Rank, Jin-Woo came to the South Korean Hunter Association to re-evaluate his Rank. His strength could not be measured by machines, indicating that he was already in the S-Rank category.

Not wanting to let go of the opportunity to recruit the 10th S-Rank in South Korea, many guilds came to recruit Jin-Woo. Even the chairman of one of the biggest guilds in South Korea, 'Hunters', Choi Jong-In, personally came to recruit Jin-Woo even though he was immediately rejected outright.

6. Has Killed Many People

In addition to the monsters in the Dungeon, Jin-Woo also had time to kill ordinary humans many times. Most of them were those who threatened Jin-Woo's life so the 'System' forced Jin-Woo to kill them.

Until chapter 155 of the manhwa, the humans he had killed were 8 party members Hwang Dong Suk (Chapter 24), Kang Tae-Sik (Chapter 34), Kim Chul (Chapter 53), and Hwang Dong Su (Chapter 145).

7. Loves His Family

Even though he is known as a cold-blooded Hunter who doesn't even hesitate to kill other Hunters, Jin-Woo is known as a person who loves his family.

He repeatedly risked his life as an E-Rank Hunter to recover his ailing mother and left the dungeon raid after learning his sister was in danger.

Although not close to the figure of his father who was rumored to be missing in Dungeon, Jin-Woo still recognized him as his father. When his father is accused of being the killer of Christopher Reid, Jin-Woo insists on protecting his father even if he has to become the enemy of the Hunters worldwide.

8. Has Beat Two S-Rank Dungeons

Not many Hunters managed to conquer S-Rank Dungeons, and those who succeeded would be awarded the title of a level above the S-Rank Hunter, the 'National Level Hunter'. There have only been 5 National Level Hunters introduced in Solo Leveling, namely those who managed to beat Kamish.

On the other hand, Jin-Woo had already conquered 2 S-Rank Dungeons namely Jeju Island and Tokyo, Japan. Plus, his victory over Thomas Andre (Chapter 147) during the feud in America, Jin-Woo proved to have strength above the National Level Hunter.

9. Has Revived Two ‘Dead People’

Jin-Woo's 'Shadow Extraction' skill can indeed resurrect dead people to serve as shadows, including humans he has killed. However, Jin-Woo also once "brought the dead to life", specifically those who suffer from 'Eternal Slumber'.

The victim of 'Eternal Slumber' lives like a person in a coma, and there is no medicine that can cure it. Jin-Woo used 'The Holy Water of Life' to resurrect his mother who had been 'dead' for 4 years, as well as Yoo Hin-Ho's father, Yoo Mung-Han.

10. Has Two ‘Hearts’

Before leaving for the S-Rank Dungeon in Japan, Jin-Woo had entered the Double Dungeon which was inside a C-Rank Dungeon. He was faced with a statue of a six-winged angel (Chapter 130).

After defeating it, Jin-Woo got the 'Black Heart' which was the original Shadow Monarch's heart, giving him 2 hearts so far (Chapter 155).
