One of the newest members of the Guardian of the Galaxy named Nebula, arguably has many surprising facts. Starting from being the daughter of Thanos and having extraordinary powers. Many also think that Nebula is a robot, but the truth is that she is an alien nation modified with Cybernetic features in each of her bodies.
Well, this time, the Dunia Games team will discuss some facts about Nebula from the Marvel universe which are quite surprising and can only be found in comics. Let's just take a look at it in full.
1. Nebula Is Not a Robot or Cyborg
The first important fact that you need to know is her ancestry, where most people will think of Nebula as a Cyborg because of her face and limbs that can function like a robot or Cyborg. In fact Nebula is not a Cyborg, but she is a member of an alien race called the Luphomoids, who was later adopted as the daughter of Thanos.
2. One of the 4 Survived Alien Races
This is the reason why Nebula, which is an alien race of Luphomoids, is only known and seen by herself, without any alien race similar to her. That's because the previous alien race of Luphomoids had become extinct due to the actions of Galactus who destroyed the Nebula's birth planet. So that leaves only 4 Luphomoids alien races, namely Nebula itself, then Kraa, Xira, and Zorr.
3. Nebula Was A Pirate And Mercenary
In the MCU version, Nebula is an adopted child who was adopted by Thanos, as well as Gamora. However, in the Marvel Comics version, it is not the same as in the MCU version, namely Nebula is a pirate as well as a mercenary who will later claim to be Thanos' biological granddaughter. Still in the end the MCU version of Nebula and the comic version is one of Thanos' adoptive families.
4. Nebula Often Loses to Gamora
Usually parents will love children who excel and are useful to him, and that happened to Thanos. The big reason Thanos loved Gamora more than Nebula, was because Gamora was a reliable child. Like when Gamora and Nebula fought, Gamora was always told to win. In addition, on Nebula's solo missions, sometimes Gamora helps when Nebula fails in the mission given by Thanos. And with that, it was no wonder Nebula hated and envied Gamora.
5. Thanos Burned the Nebula Alive
In the Marvel comics version, Nebula once lied that she was Thanos' granddaughter, and when Thanos heard and found out, Thanos decided to kill her by burning her alive. Even though she was burned, it turns out that Nebula is still alive with a very scary appearance. Thanos who saw Nebula's form was impressed with her and decided to make her a slave.
6. Gamora Once Destroyed Nebula's Body
During a training session in Dervani, Nebula and Gamora compete with each other for data ingots for Ronan. But their competition is actually not just that, because from the beginning they have shown a cruel competition. For example, Gamora once tried to trick Nebula by offering her hand, then Gamora instead threw Nebula into a cliff and immediately destroyed her body.
7. Her Original Brain Has Been Replaced by Thanos
Nebula is an alien creature whose body has been modified by Thanos, and even the original brain of Nebula has been replaced by Thanos using a cybernetic brain. That way, it's no wonder Thanos can easily access Nebula's memory, where Nebula's original brain has been replaced into a brain that can store memories and can also display what's on Nebula's mind.
8. Nebula Is Actually Grateful For Her Modified Body
Although at first it felt strange and disliked, but over time Thanos' modified body made Nebula like it. With limbs that are like Cyborgs, making Nebula easy to carry out missions and tasks, the most obvious example is her temper steel claw ability. With her temper steel claws, she was able to climb up the outside of the Cloud Tombs of Praxius without any grip as she chased after Orb.

Nebula was once trapped in a Laser Thorn Energy net, so Gamora came to save her, but unfortunately only partially. Thanos ordered her to leave Nebula to test her strength, but Gamora gave her a metal knife to cut through the nets holding Nebula, unfortunately Nebula cut her own arm to escape.
10. Nebula Can Repair Herself
Although everything is cybernetic, Nebula can still repair herself without the help of others. When The Other and Ronan are having a heated argument about Gamora's betrayal and Orb's disappearance. At that moment, Nebula stepped aside and fixed her left arm with the available laser beam, so that she didn't have to bother waiting for the mechanic to fix it.
11. Nebula Can Still Feel Pain
With so many cybernetic limbs, it's definitely hard for Nebula to feel pain or injury. But even so, Nebula can still feel pain in a certain way and Thanos knows it too. Thanos can make Nebula feel pain by tearing her cybernetic parts from her organic body. But even so, she still recovered quickly in her own way.
12. Nebula is at Rank 4 Power Grid
Nebula's powers are pretty strong in both the MCU and Marvel Comics versions, and she can sometimes take down enemies bigger than her, but she also has a limit if she has too many enemies. Now in Annihilation: The Nova Corps Files (2006), it is known that Nebula's strength is ranked 4 on the Power Grid scale, which means she is able to lift 263 kg to 25 tons.
13. Nebula Was Almost Played By Gal Gadot
We both know that the role of Nebula in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is played by Karen Gillan, but you need to know that before Karen there was Gal Gadot who almost became a Nebula in the MCU version. However, due to other reasons and so on, it was decided that the role of Nebula was given to Karen Gillan, and Gal Gadot instead managed to become a Wonder Woman character.
14. Karen Gillan Takes 5 Hours To Be A Nebula
The Marvel Cinematic Universe will indeed go all-out so that the character roles are similar to those in the Marvel Comics version. Therefore, it is not surprising that actress Karen Gillan is willing to sit for 5 hours to make her face look like Nebula, which is blue bald with some cybernetic attributes. And of course the results will not betray the results, where the role of Karen Gillan has succeeded in becoming the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of Nebula.
15. In Order to Create the Maximum Role, Karen Gillan is Willing to Exercise Intensely
Not only does Karen Gillan have a maximum appearance makeover, she also has to do extra training to create a more animated role for Nebula. Karen Gillan does have to undergo training, apart from the physical demands of her role, it's also done so that Karen's role of Nebula can animate more with herself, because Nebula is a Marvel character who is highly trained with a lot of experience.
