Nezuko Kamado is the main female character in Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba). Nezuko has an adorable appearance and is always biting down a bamboo muzzle.

There are several interesting facts about Nezuko from Kimetsu no Yaiba that you probably didn’t know. And, on this occasion, Dunia Games would like to give you a list of Nezuko facts in Demon Slayer. Without further ado, let’s get into it.

1. Muzan Was the One Who Turned Her Into a Demon

Most viewers may already be aware that the one responsible for the demons that attacked the Kamado family was Muzan, a thousand-year-old demon and the main antagonist of Demon Slayer. He turned Nezuko into a demon much like the other people he has turned using his powers.

2. Her Eye Colors Changed Once She Was Turned Into a Demon

In the early episodes, Nezuko was shown to have a similar eye color as Tanjiro – dark red. But once she’s turned into a demon, her irises turned into pink, indicating her demonic transformation.

3. Nezuko Still Possesses Her Human Traits

Before turning into a demon, Nezuko was a loving and caring girl – especially towards her family. Much like her older brother, Nezuko puts others before herself.

Once she turned into a demon, Nezuko lost almost every memory as a human yet she still manages to recall the ones involving her family.

She’s still a caring and protective person despite being a demon. Nezuko will protect anyone that she considers family, and has helped her brother on multiple occasions against powerful demons.

Even though she’s turned into a demon, Nezuko remains a caring and protective individual.

4. An Unusual Demon

Perhaps most of you are already aware that Nezuko isn’t an ordinary demon. Despite being a demon, Nezuko retains her human side, such as her compassion and love for others. On top of that, unlike other demons, she doesn’t need to consume humans to maintain her powers.

Instead of drinking human blood like other demons, Nezuko only requires sleep to restore her powers. Because of this unique trait, Nezuko is definitely not an ordinary demon.

5. Was Only 12 When She Was Turned Into a Demon

As it turns out, Nezuko isn’t that younger than Tanjiro as they’re only one year apart. When she was 12 years old, Nezuko was turned into a demon – which causes her to retain her pre-teen physicalities.

6. Possesses Great Regenerative Powers

Aside from only requiring sleep to restore her powers, Nezuko also boasts exceptional regenerative powers, almost on par with Upper Rank demons, as shown in Chapter 83 of the Kimetsu no Yaiba manga.

In that chapter, Nezuko fights to protect her brother, Tanjiro. Although she gets her body dismembered at one point during the fight, Nezuko continues to fight, thanks to her incredible regeneration.

7. Has a Technique That Amplifies the Power of Tanjiro’s Sword

During a fight against the Lower Rank demon, Rui, Nezuko uses her Blood Demon Art to enhance Tanjiro’s Nichirin. In Episode 19 of the anime series when Tanjiro tries to kill Rui, Tanjiro’s Nichirin turns red and is imbued with enhanced powers after Nezuko used her Blood Demon Art.

But that’s not all, Nezuko’s Blood Demon Art can also be used as some kind of explosive.

8. Awakened Form

Nezuko has the ability to enter a full demon form. In this state, Nezuko’s powers are greatly enhanced and her appearance also changes. By entering this state, Nezuko’s human side fades away as her demon side takes over.

The only one who can revert back this transformation is Tanjiro. To revert Nezuko back to her normal self, Tanjiro has to sing a lullaby that their mother used to sing for them.

9. The Only Demon with Sunlight Resistance

Any demon, including Muzan Kibutsuji, will get killed instantly when exposed to sunlight. But that’s not the case for Nezuko as she had developed immunity. Thanks to this, Nezuko is deemed as the “Chosen Demon” by Muzan Kibutsuji.

10. She’s Really Tiny

One of Nezuko’s powers as a demon is the ability to alter her body size and height. She can grow in size and strength to help her in battles or even shrink down to make her able to fit inside the box her brother carries.

As for her normal size, Nezuko is quite tiny, standing at only 153 centimeters. That’s why Nezuko appears way tinier than most characters in Demon Slayer.

11. She Bites a Bamboo Muzzle to Prevent Her from Biting Humans

Despite still having her human traits and seeing all humans as family, Nezuko still needs to wear the bamboo muzzle.

The muzzle not only prevents Nezuko from biting humans and/or herself, but it also ensures that her mouth is always closed so that she won’t have the chance to taste human blood, be it intentionally or accidentally.

12. She’s Really Close with Mitsuri Kanroji

The manga shows that Nezuko has a close relationship with the Love Hashira, Mitsuri Kanroji. Nezuko considers her as an older sister – which is unusual as Nezuko tends to see female humans as either a mother or a younger sister.

There are numerous panels in the manga that show Nezuko’s expression when playing with the Hashira. As a matter of fact, there’s also a sketch where Tanjiro is styling Nezuko’s hair to match Mitsuri’s.

13. A Descendant of a Powerful Bloodline

The thing that separates Nezuko from other demons is that she came from a bloodline of great swordsmiths that were also masters of Sun Breathing style. As shown when Nezuko’s Demon Blood Art enhances the power of Tanjiro’s Nichirin, the sword turns bright red, just like the characteristics of the long-lost Sun Breathing.

It’s told that the Kamado family is a direct descendant of the first users of Sun Breathing, which is also the most powerful style in Demon Slayer. This means that the technique has been passed down from one generation to another within the Kamado family.

This is perhaps one of the reasons why Nezuko is so much different than other demons.

14. Her Power is Almost On Par with Upper Rank Demons

Although she’s not one of the Twelve Kizuki, Nezuko is an incredibly powerful demon – almost on par with the Upper Rank demons. One of the reasons why Nezuko has such destructive powers is probably due to the amount of blood she received from Muzan when he turned her into a demon.

It’s been shown multiple times throughout the Kimetsu no Yaiba series, that she can overcome her enemies by increasing her physical capabilities, enhancing her regeneration, or using her Demon Blood Art in crucial situations.

Nezuko has also shown great combat prowess in numerous battles – she can match members of the Twelve Kizuki and overpower an Upper Rank demon.

15. Flame Manipulation

Nezuko’s Demon Blood Art allows her to generate and manipulate demon flames from her pinkish blood. Nezuko can perform this by igniting her blood. The flames have a special property that makes them only harmful to demons while being completely harmless to humans.

Nezuko is highly adept in using her Demon Blood Art, as she has been shown setting demons on fire to amplify her attacks, burning off Gyutaro’s poison to save Inosuke and Tengen Uzui from certain death and enhancing Tanjiro’s Nichirin.
