Genshin Impact features numerous characters, and each character comes with a variety of different personalities, skills, and backstories. In Genshin Impact 3.3, two new characters have just been introduced, namely Wanderer and Faruzan, both of whom come with their own skills and advantages. On this occasion, Dunia Games would like to give you a list of fascinating facts about Wanderer, who's also known by the nickname Scaramouche, from Genshin Impact. Without further ado, let's get into it.
1. First Appeared in an Event
Long before his story that involves the Traveler and Nahida in Sumeru, the Traveler already knew Scaramouche in an event called "Unreconciled Star" in Genshin Impact version 1.1. In this event, you could get the 4-Star Fischl for free, and meet an antagonist named Scaramouche. At that time, Scaramouche was on an expedition to Mondstadt and he introduced himself as the "Traveler from Inazuma". But before having the chance to talk further, Mona immediately activated her vision and saved everyone. This character might initially be introduced as a friendly character, but as time goes on and the story goes on, you come to realize about the true nature of this character.
2. Ei's Puppet
After completing the Archon Quest in Inazuma, you will realize that Scaramouche is not an ordinary human. He is actually a puppet created by Ei. Scaramouche was initially created to be the vessel for Raiden Shogun's Gnosis, but this experiment failed as when he gained consciousness, he cried, thus Ei deemed him to be too weak and too fragile to be used as a puppet. Not wanting to kill her failed experiment, Ei finally let Scaramouche live by controlling him and sealing his powers.
Ei even built the Shakkei Pavilion in Tatarasuna for Scaramouche. At that time, Ei had not given it a name, and he spent most of his early life there. When you visit the Domain, the description will read that a "a deeply disheartened eccentric" once lived there. Scaramouche eventually joined Fatur and became the Fatui Harbinger.
3. Also Known as Kunikuzushi
Before becoming the famous Fatui Harbinger, Scaramouche was first known by the name Kunikuzushi, which means "country destroyer". After his only friend, Katsuragi, was murdered, Scaramouche avenged his friend's death, causing Inazuma to lose 3 of its legendary swordsmiths. You can also hear this name from Raiden Shogun and Yae Miko's voice lines. Scaramouche uses this name for himself before finally joining the Fatui.

4. He Appeared in Inazuma
You may have forgotten or didn't even realize it, but prior to meeting him on the Sumeru quest, Scaramouche had made an appearance earlier when he was in Inazuma. At that time, you received a mission that was in Fatui's delusional factory in Inazuma during the Archon Quest. In a cutscene during the mission, you can see Scaramouche getting angry at the Traveler.
5. Stole Raiden Shogun's Gnosis
As previously mentioned, the Traveler met Scaramouche in an Archon Quest in Inazuma. At that time, the Traveler was in a dangerous position, then Yae Miko came to save the Traveler by exchanging Raiden Shogun's Gnosis for Scaramouche. Then, Scaramouche disappeared after an event called Labrinth Warrior, in which you met Childe who was looking for Scaramouche, as he stole Raiden Shogun's Gnosis. Childe looked for him to make sure Scaramouche didn't betray the Fatui and the Tsaritsa.
6. His Transformation
If you now know him as Wanderer, he is actually Scaramouche's other form with different personalities. This change occured after he was defeated by the Traveler and Nahida (Lesser Lord Kusanali) in a major battle in Sumeru. Although now it is still unknown what his purpose is after he changed his identity, he certainly still shows some arrogance, yet he emanates a more positive aura.
7. His Connection with the Commedia dell'arte
Commedia dell'arte is an Italian term for "professional comedy", an improvisational comic performance popular between the 16th and 18th centuries in Europe, performed by professional actors in masks. So, what does this have to do with Scaramouche and Fatui? It turns out that all the elements in the Fatui Harbingers have their own connection with the Commedia dell'arte in terms of character inspiration. In this case, Scaramouche is based on a character in the show of the same name.
This also applies to other Fatui Harbingers such as La Signora and Tartaglia, whose names are also taken from the Commedia dell'arte. While the other Fatui have their own masks, Scaramouche does not wear one, in reference to Commedia dell'arte actor Tiberio Fiorilli, who famously did not wear one in his appearances. Like the theater actor, Scaramouche in Genshin Impact is also known for being arrogant and smart.
