2019 serves as the closure of phase three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Spider-Man: Far From Home came out as the best ending. The end of phase three summons a big question mark; what’s Marvel Studios' next move for this franchise? Answering fans’ curiosity, Marvel, along with Disney, finally announced the phase four of MCU at the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2019. There are many movies and series announced, but the most interesting one is Loki and this one becomes the most anticipated series because it will answer Loki’s whereabouts after the events of Avengers: Endgame.

5. The Storyline
After his death in Avengers: Infinity Wars, who would have thought that Loki will return in his series? This plan announced by Marvel during San Diego Comic-Con as one of many Dinsey+ originals. There is not much information known regarding the series would be but it looks like this story will talk about the effect of the Avengers’ time travel as seen in Endgame that changes Loki’s fate or even creates an alternate timelike where Loki survived. Fans look like they must be patient enough because the Loki series will come out two years later.
4. The Cast
Because this one will talk about Loki, then Tom Hiddleston has confirmed to reprise the role of the titular character. Also, Owen Wilson cast in this series with an undisclosed role. It’s also possible if Chris Hemsworth will make a cameo at some point.
Actress Sophia Di Martino reported joined this project, but similar to Wilson, her character still a secret. According to a rumor, Di Martino will play as the female version of Loki or playing as Veretiy Willis, someone whose mind cannot be controlled by the God of Mischief. Another rumor that this series will introduce Sera, who will be the first transgender character in the MCU.
3. Loki Series’ Trailer
Marvel Studios still gave us a little information regarding this series. But during the Super Bowl in the United States, Marvel shared three trailers of their three series, WandaVision, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and Loki. Fans could see Hiddleston in character wearing a prison garment and said “I'll burn this place to the ground,” while smiling.
2. Connections With Previous MCU Movies
Even it’s yet to be confirmed by Marvel, there is news that the Loki series will build up the Thor: Love and Thunder storyline where Loki will return to the MCU’s main timeline. It is rumored that he could return with an alternate Mjolnir on his hand, and the Mjolnir will be a bridge to turn Jane Foster into The Mighty Thor.
The CEO of Disney, Bob Iger, also confirmed that the Loki series has a connection with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness which will be released in 2021. But once again, there’s nothing known regarding the two’s connection as of today.
1. The Release Date
Loki becomes the most anticipated Disney+ series from MCU Phase 4 by Marvel fans worldwide. In this series, we will see again the returning of God of Mischief who went time and space travel due to Space Stone he held in Avengers: Endgame. With this power, it can be assumed that Loki could serve as a cameo in multiple MCU movies in the future. It’s planned that Loki will be released on spring 2021.
