1. Has a Rather Dark Childhood

Based on her backstory, Shenhe is known to be from a branch of a famous Exorcist Family. But due to some circumstances, Shenhe had to be kicked out of the house by her own family, she was even considered a cursed child. Due to being kicked out of the house, Shenhe ended up being cared for and educated by an Adeptus named Cloud Retainer.

Shenhe was also known to possess superior intelligence that she could even master certain fields that the Adeptus wasn't too good at. While being educated and living with the Adeptus, Shenhe was able to quickly learn everything there was to learn so that she became proficient in several skills that other humans couldn't.

2. Her Hair Was Originally Black

Shenhe was actually born with jet black hair. But when she became an Adeptus student, she was told to change her hair with Jade Comb. This was done because she was trying to break her ties with human life and prefer to become a Cloud Retainer disciple. Shenhe agreed without thinking too much and combed her hair three times until it turned snow white.

The first stroke of comb symbolizes getting rid of all kinds of worries, the second stroke symbolizes when she has thrown away all feelings of joy and sorrow, and the last stroke is symbolized as the path she's willing to take until she is old without any regrets.

3. Her Fate Is Bound by Calamity

After Shenhe went with the Cloud Retainer who saved her after being kicked out of the house, she met Moon Carver and tried to read her fortune. Unfortunately, Shenhe is known to have bad luck. She's a cursed child bound by disaster, so the Adeptus decided to tie the Red Thread together to restrain the evil forces that resided in Shenhe. But this had an effect that made it difficult for Shenhe to feel ordinary human emotions.

4. Her Father Wasn't Completely Willing to Sacrifice Her

Starting from the pain of losing his wife, Shenhe's father went crazy and intended to exchange Shenhe with his wife. At that time, Shenhe was still very small, but her father had the heart to throw her into a very dark cave. But Shenhe refused to die and she continued to fight, until finally she got his vision and met Cloud Retainer.

As a matter of fact, Shenhe's father originally intended to sacrifice himself, not Shenhe. But because Black Seelie wanted Shenhe and even said that she's a cursed child, her Father ultimately threw her into  the cave. But in the end, Shenhe's Mother didn't come back, and her father realized his mistake and regretted it. He then committed suicide and left a note that read "Let me apologize to you both,".

5. Doesn’t Enjoy Being Called an Adeptus

Since she studied with an Adeptus, many people knew her as an Adeptus. Not to mention that with her extraordinary knowledge, she can be deemed on par with the Adepti. She often makes people think she is an Adeptus, some even think of her as a wizard. But in reality, Shenhe is an ordinary human, it's just that she has lived and learned from an Adeptus named Cloud Retainer for too long.

Shenhe originally came from a branch of the family of exorcists, who were quite famous for eradicating demons. Shenhe even knew that Ganyu had a lot of piled up tasks to do. She believes that it's one of the risks that Ganyu has to take if she wants to mingle with humans. But she also feels sorry for Ganyu, who's always busy with her job.
