7 Things to Learn About Space Jam 2 Before You Watch the Film

Space Jam 2 is one of the revived classic films. Space Jam was popular in the 90s. The collaboration film between professional basketball athletes and Warner Bros returns in a new sequel with today’s popular basketball athletes, one of them is LeBron James.
Recently, Warner Bros uploads the first trailer of Space Jam: A New Legacy. In the trailer, you can watch James and Bugs Bunny in action wearing Space Jam: A New Legacy jersey.

1. Involving LeBron James
Since it was announced in 2018, NBA star LeBron James will follow the footstep of Michael Jordan playing in a film with Looney Tunes characters such as Bugs Bunny and the Tazmanian Devil. The announcement was delivered via a poster designed like a locker room. In the locker room, LeBron James is positioned as a small forward and Bugs Bunny is playing the point guard.
2. Sequel of the First Space Jam
Different from the first Space Jam, Space Jam: A New Legacy is a sequel with a fresher story. It tells the story of LeBron James and his son, Bronny, on a trip to Warner Bros studio. By accident, they got trapped in a world full of Warner Bros characters. The characters’ power isn’t working because they are controlled by AI G, played by Don Cheadle. During their adventure, Bronny is kidnapped by AI G. LeBron James aided by Bugs Bunny is going on a rescue mission while winning the most epic basketball match.
3. Changing Director
Space Jam: A New Legacy has been prepared for a long time and finally started its production last year with Malcolm D. Lee (Night School) replacing Terence Nance as the director. The director of Black Panther, Ryan Coogler, is writing the script alongside Sev Ohani (Searching) and co-produces it.
4. Stunning Visual Effect
Different from Space Jam that was released in 1996, Space Jam: A New Legacy has a stunning visual effect. From the trailer shared, the viewers are spoiled with various elements, from 2D animation, 3D cinematic, and CGI. Like how LeBron was falling into the virtual reality world that drastically changed his appearance. The Looney Tunes characters in the film appeared in a realistic 3D visual.

5. New Tune Squad Logo
One of the differences between the classic Space Jam and Space Jam: A New Legacy is the jersey worn by the athletes. The costume from the classic Space Jam with Michael Jordan is dominated by the color white with a Tune Squad logo. While the costume worn by LeBron James looks really fresh with the combination of blue and a new Tune Squad logo. There’s also a “Nike” logo on the jersey and shorts.
6. Possible Michael Jordan Appearance
It seems like Space Jam: A New Legacy won’t be focused around LeBron and his son. The circulating rumors claimed that it will have nostalgic elements involving the first Space Jam cast, Michael Jordan. The ex-NBA star is rumored to make an appearance in this film
A number of actors and actresses will fill the voices of the cartoon characters such as Zendaya that is confirmed to voice Lola Bunny, Gabriel Iglesias as Speedy Gonzales, and Jeff Bergman as Bugs Bunny.
7. Release Date
Space Jam: A New Legacy is slated to be released in theatres in the coming 16 July in America. The film will be released on HBO Max on the same date for one month.
