Marvel can make less popular comic book characters into something golden for the big screen, like the Eternals. There are many less popular characters in the comic book reinvented in Marvel Cinematic Universe. One of them is Sprite, one of the Eternals.

7. Origin of Sprite and His Debut

Eternals made their debut in 1976 in the comics published by Marvel. Having many characters, Sprite is the most prominent character because he has the body of a child, whereas the other characters have mature bodies and attractive faces. Sprite was created by Celestials millions of years ago and acquired the appearance of a child so he was treated like a child for millions of years. Sprites have a very playful and mischievous behavior which we will explain in the next point.

6. Sprite’s Power

Sprites also have abilities like other Eternals, namely immortality. In addition, Sprites also have super physical strength even in the body of a child and also the power of illusion. The illusory power that Sprite has is also quite dangerous, which can change memories and also erase the target's memories, besides that Sprites can also create other realities to create new memories.

Other Sprite powers that you should know are Telekinesis and flight. Sprite can move any object without having to touch it with the power of telekinesis, besides that this power can also make Sprites fly freely.

5. Sprite an Immortal in Child’s Body

Unlike the other members of the Eternals, Sprite is trapped in the body of an 11 years old child. As the Dunia Games team explained in the initial point, it's common for Sprite to be treated like children. Therefore, Sprite sometimes takes revenge on people who treat them like children by using his illusion powers and altering that person's memory. He’s not completely wrong but using superpowers carelessly is still wrong.

4. Sprite Gender Swap in Marvel Cinematic Universe

Sprite gets a gender swap in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the original story in the comics, Sprite has the appearance of a naughty boy who wants to know everything, but in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sprite is played by a female actress who can be said to have a naughty nature as well in the Eternals trailer. At first, Marvel fans were confused, but over time they got used to the gender swap done by Marvel Studio.

3. Sprite Inspire Peter Pan

It's not Marvel if it doesn't mess up the history that already exists. The creator of Peter Pan, J.M. Barrie appeared in the comic by Neil Gaiman. Sprites actually appeared in front of J.M. Barrie and inspired a boy who never ages, finally J.M. Barrie wrote Peter Pan as Sprite wanted.

Debuting in 2018 as an actress, Lia McHugh has starred in a number of films, ranging from Hot Summer Nights, Abby, and also Along Came the Devil. Of course, it will be a challenge for Lia McHugh to make her debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a member of the Eternals named Sprite, which certainly makes Marvel fans curious.
