After the release of the first teaser back on January 15, 2020, Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) shown us Natasha Romanoff’s “family” and other Black Widows in action. Also, we can see the villain in the movie, Taskmaster and his fighting abilities. For whatever reason, his appearance makes people getting more curious rather than seeing Red Guardian and the Red Room, the place where all females trained to be the deadliest assassin.

5. His Origins & Early Life
In the comics, Taskmaster, whose real name is Anthony “Tony” Master, originated from Brooklyn, (the same place of Steve Rogers aka Captain America). Since he was young, he realized that he could copy other people’s actions after seeing them once. Starting from there, he believed that he could be a superhero, but looking at his economical conditions at that time, he decided to be a villain and later known as Taskmaster.
4. Born With Unique Powers
As written above, Taskmaster could duplicate everyone’s moves by just seeing. This attribute called “photography reflexes” where he recorded all moves he saw in his brain and later implemented back at himself, resulting in he could do the same move without any training beforehand. In addition, Taskmaster is recorded to have copied various superheroes’ moves like Ant-Man, Black Crow, Black Knight, Black Widow, Blazing Skull, Boomerang, Bushwacker, Black Panther, Captain America, Cat, Constrictor, Daredevil, Deadpool, The Destroyer, Elektra, Falcon, Hawkeye, Iron Fist, Iron Man, Moon Knight, Nomad, Oddball, Punisher, Silver Samurai, Redshirt, Solo, Spider-Man, Swordsman, Tigra, Tombstone, Wolverine and many more.
3. Once Joined S.H.I.E.L.D
Aside from becoming a villain, in the comics, Taskmaster turned out to once joined S.H.I.E.L.D and serving as its agent. During that time, Taskmaster met an old scientist who got shot. Before he died, he passed an experimental Nazi Super-Soldier serum and told that thing could improve his abilities. After Taskmaster injecting himself with the said serum, he became stronger than ever, but unbeknownst to him, it came with side effects, as his photographic reflexes weakened and forgot his family.
2. Building Taskmaster Academy
Taskmaster, as a villain, told to have built an academy to create a villain as well as his successor. The name of the academy is Taskmaster's Academy, or also known as Solomon Institute for the Criminally Insane. The reason why he built the academy is to make a massive revenue by making his pupils as villains. In the institute, Taskmaster served as the mentor of martial arts and weaponry. As they grew stronger and capable enough to handle themselves, he sent them to various organizations like Hydra, Secret Empire, U.L.T.I.M.A.T.U.M. and many more.
1. Also Appears in Other Marvel Series
Taskmaster can be said as the unique adversary that Marvel ever has. Aside from featured in Black Widow, Taskmaster also sometimes appears in other Marvel media. For example, he was featured as an adversary in the PS2 Spider-Man video game and sometimes appeared as Deadpool's rival.
