Sony Pictures has finally appointed Takashi Doscher as the scriptwriter for the movie adaptation of the PlayStation 4 exclusive. Previously, Doscher wrote the sci-fi romance movie, “Only”. And his latest project, “Blue” is a Japanese monster movie that’s currently in development.

As previously mentioned, the movie adaptation of Ghost of Tsushima will be helmed by Chad Stahelski, who’s known for his work in John Wick. This movie will surely receive inputs from the studio that developed the game, Sucker Punch, which will be the Executive Producer. Stahelski also mentioned, "(We are) taking our time and doing it right. We're working very closely with the game developers to make sure we stick to what's great about it."

The filming project is currently still in early development, which means it will take a while before they actually start shooting and even naming the cast. And of course, fans will have to wait for the release date.

Ghost of Tsushima isn’t the only game from Sony that’s getting a movie adaptation. Previously, Sony’s Uncharted became the fifth highest-grossing video-game movie of all time, earning USD 337.3 million globally.

Ghost of Tsushima is a highly-popular video game on PlayStation 4, with more than 6.5 million copies sold since its first release in July 2020. Ghost of Tsushima follows the samurai Jin Sakai, who’s the last surviving member of his clan. He needs to put aside the traditions that had shaped him and fight for the war to liberate Tsushima from the Mongolian invasion.
