Avex Pictures shared a 34-second trailer video for the movie anime adaptation of Tetsuya Imai’s Break of Dawn (Bokura no Yoake) manga. The production team also revealed the latest info regarding the voice cast and staff in the production.

The anime film is slated for a premiere in Japanese theaters in October 2022. Along with the trailer video, the production team also shared a key visual of the film. 

The movie will be directed by Tomoyuki Kurokawa, with Dai Satou as the scriptwriter, pomodorosa as the original character and concept designer, Takahiko Yoshida as a chief animation supervisor, and anime character designer, and Masaru Yokoyama as music composer. Studio Zero-G is also in charge of the production.

The production team also revealed some info regarding the main voice cast. Hana Sugisaki will be voicing the main character Yuuma Sawatari, whereas Aoi Yuuki will be voicing Nanako, Yuuma’s mysterious companion.

The movie is set in the near-future year of 2049, where humanity has become aware for a number of years that the Earth will have an unavoidable collision with a large-scale comet. Yuuma is a boy obsessed with space, robots, and the impending collision. He has an encounter with an extraterrestrial being, which he finds out is connected to the incoming comet.

The anime adaptation of the Break of Dawn manga was first confirmed for a Fall premiere last March. Tetsuya Imai’s manga series was first serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon magazine from 25 January to 25 October 2011. The series ended with two volumes of tankoubon.
