The first 2022 issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine revealed on Wednesday December 1, 2021, the 25th film in the Detective Conan franchise titled Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween (Meitantei Conan: Halloween no Hanayome). Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween will be released in Japan on April 15, 2022. The magazine also features a teaser for Miwako Sato and Wataru Takagi in wedding attire. Will the two characters end up getting married?

TMS Entertainment’s Susumu Mitsunaka (Haikyuu!!) is directing this anime. Takahiro kura (Detective Conan: The Fist of Blue Sapphire , Detective Conan: The Crimson Love Letter) is writing the screenplay. Gosho Aoyama is credited as the creator of the original manga.

The magazine revealed that the Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween film will feature the police academy franchise characters Rei Furuya, Jinpei Matsuda, Wataru Date, Kenji Hagiwara, and Hiromitsu Morofushi. Aoyama had previously revealed a teaser that police academy characters would "lead" in the 25th Detective Conan anime film.

The confirmed voice cast includes Minami Takayama as Conan Edogawa and Wakana Yamazaki as Ran Mouri. There is also Rikiya Koyama as Kogoro Mouri, and Toru Furuya as Toru Amuro.

The film is set in Shibuya on Halloween. At the Shibuya Hikarie building, the wedding ceremony was taking place. There, Miwako Sato wore a wedding dress. Suddenly, an intruder walks in, and Wataru Takagi is injured protecting Miwako. At the same time, a serial bombing criminal has escaped from the incident three years ago that killed Jinpei Matsuda (the police officer Miwako previously loved).

Rei Furuya, who used to be Jinpei's classmate at the police academy, joins in tracking down the suspect. But a mysterious costumed person appears and attaches a bomb to Rei's neck. Conan also heard about the bombing incident that occurred three years ago from Rei, and tried to disarm the bomb around his neck.
