The official website for the Toku Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru ~Setsugetsuka~ film trilogy began streaming a new trailer for the third movie "Hana no Maki" (Flower Story) on Friday. The trailer features the preview of the film's theme song "Ōka no Tayori" (The Tidings of the Cherry Blossoms). The site also revealed a new visual for the film. "Hana no Maki" will premiere on 1 September 2022.

The first movie, "Yuki no Maki" was released on 20 May 2022. Whereas the sequel, "Tsuki no Maki" was released on 8 July 2022. Each movie will be directed by different directors. Takashi Naoya returned from the Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru TV series to direct "Yuki no Maki." Tomoaki Koshida reprised his role from Zoku Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru to direct "Tsuki no Maki." "Hana no Maki" is directed by Sumie Noro.

The movies are produced by Doga Kobo. Yuki Nekota, who wrote scripts for the second season of the show, also returns as the scriptwriter. Junichirō Taniguchi returns as the character designer. The cast will perform the opening theme song, "Hanamaru-Tayori no Mau Koro ni".

Touken Ranbu retells the story of the legendary swords from Japanese history and interprets them as good-looking men. Nitroplus designed the characters and wrote the script for this game. Touken Ranbu was released in Japan in January 2015.
