There are many types of horror films, such as a horror film that tells a ghost story, to a horror film that tells the story of a possessed doll. Yup, dolls are indeed one of the objects that have been with humans for a long time. Not only as friends or toys, but dolls are usually also associated with supernatural things, namely as a container for spirits or demons. Even in the real world, there are dolls that contain evil energy that is difficult to control.

1. Child's Play (1988)
At number one, there is the legendary doll-themed horror film entitled Child's Play which was released in 1988. This horror film begins when a fugitive named Charles Lee Ray escapes to a doll shop. There he was shot and killed in a pile of Good Guys dolls. Before he died, Charles cast a spell to get his soul into the doll that was nearby. He also vowed to take revenge on his colleagues and the police who shot him.
The Good Guys doll, which has been possessed by the spirit of Charles, then spreads terror and kills people. At first no one believed that the murder was carried out by a puppet, but in the end people who became victims of terror realized it and tried to stop his evil efforts. The success of Child's Play (1988) was also remade and has come in a more modern version in 2019.
2. Dead Silence (2007)
Next is the horror film, Dead Silence, which was released in 2007. This film was directed by James Wan after he was quite successful in directing his debut film, Saw in 2004. Although less popular than the previous film, Dead Silence still gives an unsettling feeling when watched. This film tells the story of a ventriloquist doll named Billy who is possessed by the spirit of its owner Mary Shaw. The doll also commits murder in a sadistic and cruel way without anyone knowing. Along the course of the story we will certainly be surprised, afraid, and maybe will close our eyes when Mary Shaw suddenly appears with a scary face.
3. Annabelle: Creation (2017)
Annabelle: Creation is a film from the The Conjuring universe. This film tells about the cursed doll Annabelle who is possessed by a demon. The story begins when the family of Samuel Mullins lost their child, Annabelle, who was run over by a car while trying to pick up her father's tire screw. 12 years after the incident, the Mullins' home turned their home into an orphanage filled with a number of children and a sister named Charlotte.
The big house that has become an orphanage turns out to have a very terrible mystery. One of the rooms is the room of Annabelle. In this room, there were many toys that invited one of the kids to play with the doll. But it turns out that the child actually opened a cupboard containing a doll without knowing it would cause a very fatal incident.
4. Poltergeist (2015)
Poltergeist is a horror thriller film that tells the story of a family who has just arrived at their new home. Eric, the head of the family has just been fired from his job and wants to start life in a new city with his family. On the first night of their move, strange noises are heard on the walls of the house and Griffin finds a clown doll in the house. Starting that night, their family is attacked by angry spirits involving a clown doll in the house. The family eventually found out that their house was built on an old cemetery.
5. Puppet Master (1989)
Then there is the classic horror film titled Puppet Master which was released in 1989. This film relies on the terror of deadly armed puppets as the plot. In fact, this film presents scenes of horrific doll attacks and often makes the audience frown. The film itself begins when a man finds a doll equipped with a knife belonging to his late brother. This man then auctioned the doll at an annual event. But during the auction, suddenly a mysterious power appears that animates all the dolls and makes them bloodthirsty killers.

6. The Conjuring (2013)
For fans of horror films, they will agree that The Conjuring which was released in 2013 is one of the best horror films ever released. This film itself tells the story of a horror story that befell a family named Perron after moving into a house that is notoriously haunted. They finally called a famous psychic at the time, namely the couple Ed and Lorraine Warren. This film is the starting point of the Annabelle doll which you can finally see in the next film entitled Annabelle in 2014.
7. The Boy (2016)
The horror film The Boy is a film directed by William Brent Bell which was released in 2016. This film tells about the terror of a porcelain doll. The film begins when a young nanny named Greta finds a small family who have a porcelain doll that they consider as their own son. This doll-themed horror film is sure to make your heart beat fast and make you close your eyes.
8. Demonic Toys (1992)
Demonic Toys is a horror film featuring small and deadly toys. The film revolves around two shooters and a pregnant policewoman who are trapped in a warehouse with a living doll. The doll looks pretty scary and the backdrop only adds tension and intensity to the scene. It's a cult classic that is so much fun with a captivating base effect that's hard to ignore.
9. Dolly Dearest (1991)
Next is Dolly Dearest, which presents the horror-slasher genre and tells the story of an American family moving to Mexico to make dolls. However, their toy factory happens to be next to Sanzian's grave and the toys become the property of an old evil spirit. The dolls look pretty scary in some cases and there are some unexpected jump scares that add even more spookiness to the film.
10. Annabelle (2014)
After watching The Conjuring, then you can watch the Annabelle movie which is about a cursed doll. If you look at her appearance, it seems that Annabelle is just a vintage doll wearing a soft white wedding dress and has a big smile. But who would have thought that the doll could spread terror and kill its victims. In that year, Annabelle was successfully named as one of the highest grossing horror films of all time due to the high audience interest.
