Artist Ryoka Minamide has been selected to play the lead role in the live action horror movie Sayuri, which is an adaptation of the horror manga by Rensuke Oshikiri. The announcement regarding the main cast was announced via the film's official Twitter account on Wednesday, April 24th 2024.

In this movie, Minamide will play the character Norio, the eldest child of the Kamiki family. This project will be directed by Koji Shiraishi, a director who has been involved in several famous movies such as Sadako vs. Kayako and Impossibility Defense. The plan is that Sayuri will be released by Showgate this summer.

The manga Sayuri tells the story of a family who has just moved into their new house. However, their happiness is soon disturbed by mysterious and frightening phenomena that occur around the house.

Rensuke Oshikiri, the manga author, published this work in Gentosha Comics' Comic Birz magazine from January 2010 to March 2011. This manga consists of two volumes that present a compelling horror story.

Apart from Sayuri, Oshikiri is also known for his other works, such as the manga Hi Score Girl published in Square Enix's Monthly Big Gangan magazine. Her work entitled Hi Score Girl managed to get two successful television anime series.

With the presence of Ryoka Minamide as Norio, it is hoped that the movie Sayuri will be a tense and entertaining adaptation for fans of the horror genre.
