The staff of Knights of the Zodiac, a live-action movie adaptation of Masami Kurumada’s manga, Saint Seiya, revealed at Comic-Con International that the movie will be released in 2023. The tagline for the Knights of the Zodiac live-action movie is "Pegasus will rise." A sneak peek of Knights of the Zodiac was revealed during the event, including behind-the-scenes footage.

Variety, the entertainment news website, also posted an interview with Toei Animation producer, Yoshi Ikezawa, who mentioned that Toei Animation is currently "looking at six movies as a package" for the Saint Seiya live-action franchise. He also added that Toei Animation has "started the conversation" to make the sequels. Ikezawa also talked about the long journey to producing a live-action adaptation of the manga.

Knights of the Zodiac stars Mackenyu (Pacific Rim: Uprising, Rurouni Kenshin Saishusho The Final, Chihayafuru live-action movies), Madison Iseman (Jumanji sequels, I Know What You Did Last Summer TV series), Sean Bean (Game of Thrones, The Lord of the Rings, Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV, Snowpiercer), Famke Janssen (X-Men, Taken, The Vault), Nick Stahl (Fear the Walking Dead), Diego Tinoco (On My Block), and Mark Dacascos (John Wick: Parabellum, Hawaii Five-O, Crying Freeman, Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight, Iron Chef America).

Animator and special effects creator Tomasz Baginski (Academy Award-nominated short animation "Katedra," The Witcher) is directing Knights of the Zodiac for Toei with Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions. Andy Cheng (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) is the stunt/fight coordinator.

Josh Campbell and Matt Stucken (10 Cloverfield Lane) write the story. Toei will distribute the movie in Japan, whereas Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions will be in charge of the movie distribution outside Japan except in China and the Middle East.
