When we watch a horror film, we definitely know that the film will be scary. Every scene and character in a horror film is always created to cause a feeling of horror or trauma in the audience.

But did you know, during the production stages, various supernatural disturbances could happen to the horror film crew and actors involved. From the point of view of the place used to the set that was built, it's not impossible for supernatural beings to be present in it.

However, there are several horror films where the cast or crew died during filming. Making news spread if the film is cursed or becomes a cursed film

The seven cursed horror films:

1. The Omen (1976)

The 1976 film The Omen is reportedly one of the most cursed films of all time. One of The Omen's special effects designers, John Richardson, was involved in a car accident, just like a scene from the film. An animal handler was also killed by a tiger. Lightning also struck the plane carrying the cast and crew at different times. Additionally, trained dogs attack a stuntman, ignoring the instructions of their trainer.

The cast and crew were also nearly blown up by the Irish Republican Army in London, England. And finally, Gregory Peck's son committed suicide shortly after Peck accepted the role.

2. The Exorcist (1973)

This Oscar-winning film is indeed one of the most popular horror films of all time. The curses and horrors in the film befell the actors and crew in real life. The two actors, Vasiliki Maliaros and Jack MacGowran, who were said to have died in the film in the script, also died after filming The Exorcist. Not long after that, seven other crew members died for unknown reasons.

The next strange event occurred during the filming process. At that time, there was a big fire that destroyed the entire set at the shooting location, except for Regan MacNeil's room, who was the possessed girl in the film. It didn't stop there, during the premiere in Rome, a large bolt of lightning struck and knocked down a 400 year old giant cross on the street opposite the film screening building.

3. Poltergeist (1982)

The curse also befalls the actors in the Poltergeist film. Starting from Heather O'Rourke who plays the little girl Carol Anne, who died due to a medical misdiagnosis. Then Dominique Dunne as Dana, killed by her boyfriend.

And Oliver Robins, who played Robbie, almost died while doing a scene during filming. The clown doll's arms wrapped around his neck and choked him. Many believe the curse was triggered by the use of real skeletons in movies.

4. Rosemary’s Baby (1968)

Rosemary's Baby was said to be one of the cursed horror films. Unlike the others, the curse of this film appeared when the film was released. Starting with Krzysztof Komeda, the composer who created the score for the film fell off a cliff and fell into a coma, and never regained consciousness until his death in 1969.

A bad incident also happened to the producer, William Castle. Even though he didn't die, William Castle was suddenly diagnosed with serious kidney stones and had hallucinations and said "Rosemary" when he was unconscious in the hospital.

5. The Conjuring (2013)

It turns out that The Conjuring is one of the cursed films. The curse occurred when Vera Famiga saw a strange scratch mark on her laptop. Not only that, director James Wan also saw a dog growling at something unseen. There was also a strange gust of wind that forced Carolyn Perron to be rushed to the hospital. And finally it was also reported that a mysterious fire had been seen in the shooting area.

6. Annabelle (2014)

During the filming of Annabelle, it was reported that two crew members were injured. Then an actor suddenly hit his head in the corridor, which was the place used by the actor during the scene where he was killed by a ghost.

There are also strange and mysterious scratch marks on the windows of the house. Then, like the true story, the fake Annabelle doll, which was a filming prop, was said to be haunted and is now locked up in a paranormal museum.

7. The Twilight Zone (1983)

In this film, one of the titles Time Out, there is a scene where the main star, Vic Morrow, saves two small children from the Vietnam War using a helicopter. However, bad luck occurs when a technical problem prevents the pilot from controlling the helicopter. The helicopter flew out of control and landed over Morrow.

The incident killed Morrow and child actor Myca Dinh Le, who was only 7 years old, was beheaded by a helicopter blade. Meanwhile, Shin Yi Chen, who was still 6 years old, was killed by the helicopter debris.
