From being trapped in a hotel by the Eternity Devil to the inevitable battle with the Gun Devil, Chainsaw Man always delivers intense battles. Because of this, Denji was already confronted by the Four Horsemen unconsciously.
The Four Horsemen are the oldest demons born from the fears of mankind. War, Hunger, Control and Death are terrifying demons. So far there are some interesting things about the Four Horsemen in Chainsaw Man’s manga. Curious? Here's the review!
Who are They?
The Four Horsemen are the four most powerful devils in the Chainsaw Man. These devils were demons born from the fear of humans, so the longer that fear existed, the stronger their power became. Demons of War, Hunger, Control, and Death have existed since the beginning of time. The four of them are equally strong and practically equal.
These four devils have distinctive golden eyes with red rings, making them easy to spot. The four are also the only demons who remember the names consumed and erased by the Saw devil, including the Nuclear Weapon Devil and the Nazi Devil. Even though they are called the Four Horsemen group, in fact they rarely collaborate as a team.
The last time the four joined forces was when they fought Pochita in hell, and sometime after this fight, they entered the human world and split up to pursue their own goals.
Makima and Nayuta's Relationship
Makima is the first of the Four Horsemen to be introduced in Chainsaw Man. After separating from her comrades, Makima begins to pursue Pochita in hopes of harnessing her powers and erasing her fellow Four Horsemen. This is why she is so attracted to Denji, manipulating and controlling him with her greatest desire to finally exploit Pochita's abilities.

Unfortunately this goal was never achieved because Denji managed to find a loophole to beat Makima. After being eaten by Denji, Makima was reincarnated, and Nayuta is now the new Control Devil. After Kishibe found the reincarnation, he brought her to Denji in hopes that Denji would nurture Nayuta with love, giving her the connection and relationship that Makima could never have.
Denji tried his best to save money for Nayuta's education, impart good knowledge, and raise her as a younger sister to form a family bond that Makima doesn't have.
Death Devil Mistery
The only devil of the Four Horsemen that had yet to appear was the Death Devil. Fans were waiting for Death Devil's introduction, and it was inevitable that when it did, it would become a major plot point. The Death Devilembodied the primal fear of death, so it would become the strongest of the Four Horsemen.
Death is the most basic fear that can be experienced by all living things so it is not surprising that it would become one of the strongest. There have been many theories as to who this demon might be, but none are really solid yet. Considering a recurring theme among the Four Horsemen, the Death Devil is most likely a girl with the same distinctive golden eyes - and a character like this is not uncommon in manga.
However, since death has been feared from the very beginning of life itself, a character this powerful will likely be introduced as a sort of final boss.
