Konami Digital Entertainment has officially announced a brand-new online multiplayer mode titled "FOX HUNT" for METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER, scheduled for release on August 28, 2025. The announcement was made during the KONAMI PRESS START program, which also unveiled various other exciting updates for the PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam® versions.

What Is FOX HUNT in Metal Gear?

FOX HUNT is an original online multiplayer feature that incorporates iconic Metal Gear elements such as stealth, camouflage, and survival. The mode delivers tactical gameplay reminiscent of an intense, high-stakes game of hide-and-seek set in realistic battlefield environments.

Konami describes FOX HUNT as a fresh experience where players can cooperate or compete against each other in thrilling scenarios. While the exact release date for this mode hasn’t been confirmed, Konami has promised more details will be shared soon.

The Return of Secret Theater & Asia-Exclusive Bonuses

In addition to FOX HUNT, Konami also announced the return of "Secret Theater", a collection of parody videos that originally appeared in Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence. This remake version will feature both the original clips and new, hidden scenes that can be unlocked in-game.

For the Asia Package physical edition, players will receive an exclusive Pin Set—available in limited quantities. This bonus is only offered for day-one purchases, so be sure to secure your copy early.

Additional Modes: Snake vs Monkey and Snake vs Bomberman

During the same showcase, Konami revealed gameplay footage of two bonus modes:

• Snake vs Monkey (PlayStation®5 & Steam®): The iconic mode where players must catch escaped monkeys across various levels.

• Snake vs Bomberman (Xbox Series X|S): A unique collaboration with the Bomberman franchise, featuring classic puzzle-style challenges in a new twist.

These modes bring a sense of nostalgia while affirming that the remake of Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater stays true to fan-favorite elements from the original.

As part of the promotion, Konami is offering a 50% discount on METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol.1 on Steam until June 29, 2025. Additionally, the next episode of METAL GEAR - PRODUCTION HOTLINE, featuring the game’s creators, will be airing soon.
