Sad news came from the One Piece anime. Franky's voice actor, Kazuki Yao decided to retire from the world of singing due to deteriorating health and increasing age. This news certainly shocked the Nakama who had listened to his voice since Franky first appeared.
Since the revelation of Kazuki Yao's poor condition some time ago, fans have been worried that he would not voice Franky again in the future. Kazuki Yao has voiced Franky since 2005. He has voiced the character who often shouts "SUPER" for almost 20 years.
Kazuki Yao's post on X received more than 20 million views and many touching comments. "Thank you for everything! Your voice brought Franky to life in a special way and made us happy for years. You have touched the hearts of the fans, and we will always remember you. We will miss you very much, and we wish you the best!" wrote one of the sad Nakama in the comments column.
According to the official One Piece account on X, Yao's successor as Franky will be revealed on December 22, 2024, at the RED Jump Festa 2025 Super Stage event. This event will also be Yao's graduation day as one of the legendary voice actors in the One Piece anime.
