On Thursday, January 18, 2024, the jury committee of the 69th Shogakukan Manga Awards officially announced the winners. Each work that wins the award will receive an award in the form of a bronze statue and a prize worth 1 million yen (around 105 million rupiah).

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End

Apart from the winners, several other works also received recognition through nominations, such as Unmei no Makimodo Shi - All Great Achievements Require Time, Kyo kara Papa wa Kami Desu., Black Girls Talk, Shujinkou Nikki, Ice Castle Wall, Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead, Shojiki Fudosan, and Yes Boy Kongming!.
It is important to note that for the first time, nominations are not divided into specific categories. Previously, award categories included Best Manga for Kids, Best Shonen Manga, Best Shoujo Manga, and Best General Manga. Nevertheless, this year's nominations still feature a variety of works from various genres.
Shogakukan has awarded this award since 1956 for works published in 1955. Last year's winners included Ui×Kon, Call of the Night, Blue Orchestra (Ao no Orchestra), Ashita, Watashi wa Dareka no Kanojo, and Medalists.
