Currently, there are many games that raise historical stories and myths. One of them is God of War which is inspired by Greek Mythology. The success of God of War which carries the historical story of Greek Mythology has also been adapted by other developers in developing a game. Now developers have incorporated historical and mythological elements into their games, ranging from Norse Mythology in Valheim to the historical setting of ancient feudal Japan.
Apart from ancient Greek, Norse, and feudal Japanese mythology, Egyptian Mythology is also a favorite of developers to be presented in their games. 1. Ankh: Curse Of The Scarab King
Ankh: Curse Of The Scarab King may not be a popular title. This game was developed by Deck13 and released for PC in 2005 and Nintendo DS in 2008. In this game, players will take on the role of Assil, the son of a respected architect from Cairo. While partying with two of his friends at the Pyramid, he accidentally broke several jars and disturbed the mummy who was resting in the Pyramid.
The mummy punished Assil by casting a death curse on him, and he had 24 hours to remove the curse. To be free from the curse, Assil must complete several missions to find some hidden items.
2. Strange Brigade
Next is Strange Brigade which brings gamers into a multiplayer world with a Zombie theme. This game takes four players into a mysterious territory. This area looks like a wilderness, but apparently there are zombies with Egyptian style.
Interestingly, some of the enemies that appear also use ancient weapons such as swords and shields, and the scariest one is a monster with a shape like the god of war Seth.
3. Kamigami No Asobi
Kamigami No Asobi is a visual novel and dating sim game developed by Nippon Ichi Software and released for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) in 2013. In this game, players will be invited to discover the secrets of the Egyptian gods, and date them. Maybe this game feels quite strange, because the characters of these gods have the faces of anime characters, only with costumes that represent Greek, Norse, and Egyptian mythology.
4. Sphinx And The Cursed Mummy
Next is Sphinx And The Cursed Mummy, developed by Eurocom and published under THQ in 2003 for PS2, GameCube, and Xbox. In this game, the player will act as a demigod, named the Sphinx. The player’s task is to solve puzzles and fight each monster by relying on physical and magical powers.
5. Lara Croft And The Temple Of Osiris
Lara Croft and The Temple of Osiris is a game that comes with an isometric perspective ala Diablo with co-op gameplay. This game developed by Crystal Dynamics presents Lara's adventure to Egypt and again has to fight with archaeologist who becomes her rival, Carter Bell plus two gods released from prison, Horus and Isis. The four of them fight together to defeat an evil god named Set.
These four characters indicate a maximum of four players who can play this game in co-op. The four players must work together to explore temple after temple in Egypt, defeat troops that emerged from the Egyptian underworld, solve various puzzles and avoid traps.

6. Age Of Mythology: Extended Edition
Age of Mythology is a strategy game where gamers will be tasked with building cities, defenses and troops to attack enemies. Basically this game has a similar formula as Age of Empires, but instead of being presented with a choice of kingdoms, gamers will play as one of three ancient civilizations that have the most legendary myths: Greece, Scandinavia (Vikings), including Egypt.
7. Egyptian Senet
Egyptian Senet is the oldest board game from the ancient Egyptian era. Where this game has been introduced since 2620 BC. Now apart from being present as a physical version of the board game, Senet is also present as a digital game that you can have via Steam. The game has similar mechanics to the traditional version of Senet. It's just that the developer, Ezzat Studios has added a number of features to make it more modern.
8. Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation
Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation is the fourth series of Lara Croft adventures released by Core Design in 1999. In this game, Lara Croft is invited to an adventure in the ruins of ancient Egypt. Where she had to imprison the Egyptian god, after she accidentally freed him. The gameplay mechanism of The Last Revelation is almost similar to the previous series, where Lara must explore every room, fight enemies, and solve puzzles to be able to move on to the next location.

10. Assassin's Creed Origins
Finally, Assassin's Creed Origins is a game made by Ubisoft that is very thick with the ancient Egyptian civilization. This game tells the story of a Medjay warrior named Bayek, who wants revenge against a mysterious organization that seeks power in the land of Egypt with the power of an ancient god. As an Assassin, Bayek has the same brutal and bloodthirsty nature as Connor Kenway from Assassin's Creed III.
