Who is not familiar with the giant film publishing company that started as a film rental service called Netflix. Opening its service to more countries, in May 2021, Netflix has a surprising new plan to join the gaming industry. This is not a decision made on a whim and is still being studied so the platform can win the heart of gamers.

Recently, Netflix officially announced that the company had become a game publisher by launching 5 new mobile games for Android. These mobile games can be enjoyed by Android users, both for smartphones or tablets globally.

So what are the 5 mobile games published by Netflix? Find out from the following list!

1. Stranger Things: 1984

If you are a fan of the Stranger Things series, then you should try Stranger Things: 1984. This mobile game is actually developed by BonusXP and was released in 2017, but currently gamers and Netflix subscribers in Indonesia can only play it on Android and iOS. The gameplay of Stranger Things: 1984 will remind you of classic adventure games from the SNES era, such as The Legends of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

Since the game is played on touch screen devices, the gameplay mechanics have also been simplified. Starting from the movement of characters, combat, to inspecting can be done just by tapping the screen. With a 16-bit retro style, it will bring gamers back to the old days . Even so, this game is still fun to play for today's gamers.

In this game, there are eight playable characters, where each character has their own weapons and skills. Players can also upgrade the abilities of the characters they play by using items that can be found in the game area.

2. Stranger Things 3

Next, Stranger Things 3 is a game that was released specifically in conjunction with the third season of Stranger Things in 2019. This game still uses a 16-bit art style that creates a sense of nostalgia for early 90's games on the SNES console. Interestingly, Stranger Things 3: The Game was released on almost all platforms namely Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Playstation 4, PC, iOS and Android. Now the game can be played in full for gamers who have subscribed to the Netflix service.

Stranger Things 3: The Game takes on the exact same story but outside of the main plot, there are various side quests given to reveal some details that are not included in the television series. Even so, players can still enjoy the side quests offered even though only a few "new" explorations can be enjoyed.

From the technical aspect, because this is available for mobile devices, the navigation used has also been adjusted. So that players can control the character easily on the smartphone screen.

3. Shooting Hoops

Then there is a casual mobile game called Shooting Hoops. This game is very unique because it combines elements of basketball with shooting into one. The player is tasked with shooting a basketball and scoring with a dart. Although it looks very simple, this game is great to play when you are bored.

There are several features that Shooting Hoops has, including; Power-Ups, various types of balls that can be unlocked, and language support.

4. Card Blast

If you are a fan of card games, you should try a game called Card Blast from Netflix. To access this game you must first subscribe to Netflix. As a card game, Card Blast offers puzzle gameplay that demands skill and a bit of luck. Similar to a game of poker, players must be able to arrange and match them from running cards so that they can get points. To make it even more exciting, there are also a number of power-ups that players can use.

5. Teeter (Up)

Lastly, Teeter (Up) is a very interesting casual game to play. In this game, the player’s task is to control the ball to get into a hole. Although it looks easy, the levels in this game are quite difficult. To make it feel more realistic, the developer has also improved the gravity and physics. So the ball can roll at every slight movement. There are 150 levels that can be played and there are also easter eggs that players can find.
