The worldwide popularity of PSP has successfully encouraged various PS2 game developers to release their titles on the handheld console. That means even without having to sit for hours in front of the TV, you can enjoy the excitement of those games wherever you are. What games are we talking about? Well, look no further, these are a list of PS2 games that got spinoffs or have been re-released on PSP, that you can also enjoy using the PPSSPP emulator.
1. The Sims 2: Pets
Who is not familiar with this life simulation series? Now, thanks to PPSSPP, you don't need a PC, laptop, or console just to play it. There are two different versions of this title: if you want the simple gameplay of building a house and living a normal life just like in the PC version, look for The Sims 2: Pets. But if you want a version that has a weird storyline complete with out-of-this-world quests, just look for The Sims 2.
2. Star Wars Battlefront 2
A must-have for fans of Star Wars and shooters. Apart from Battlefront 2, there are also Battlefront: Renegade Squadron and Elite Squadron. Both of them added more features such as character customization, new weapons, and an ability to getting in and out of a planet's atmosphere almost seamlessly. But they had to cut the number of friendly and hostile AIs.
3. Grand Theft Auto
If you are looking for an open world (and violent) title, you can always count on the Grand Theft Auto series. On the PSP, Rockstar released two games: Liberty City Stories which tells the life of the mafia Toni Cipriani, and Vice City Stories which invites us into the boots of Victor "Vic" Vance complete with a new feature that lets you build your own criminal enterprise. Apart from these two, the NDS Chinatown Wars was also released to the PSP. Plus you can play the PS1 titles: GTA, GTA 2, and GTA London.
4. Armored Core 3 Portable
One of the popular mecha game titles on the PS2 has actually been ported to the PSP. In this FromSoftware (Dark Souls)-made game, we play the role of a Raven mercenary who works for a number of parties that are competing for control of the post-apocalyptic Earth. Apart from the graphics quality that had to be downgraded so it could run on a handheld console, this PSP version is more or less the same as the original version.
5. Warriors Orochi 2
Do you like Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors? How about playing the crossover title, Warriors Orochi? Yes, this game is a combination of the two. In addition to the Three Kingdoms warriors and Sengoku Jidai samurai, Koei also added gods and monsters from Chinese and Japanese myths. You can play both the first and second titles using PPSSPP.

Atlus's legendary PS2 RPG. Here you play a role as a student in the SEES organization, who are tasked to investigate a mysterious phenomenon known as the Dark Hour. 8. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Apart from Battlefront, there is one more game that fans of the science fiction series should play. Here, you play as Galen Marek, aka Starkiller, Darth Vader's secret apprentice who is trained so that one day the two of them can destroy Emperor Palpatine and rule the galaxy.
9. Disgaea
If Persona still doesn't satisfy your thirst for PSP RPG, then the turn-based tactics series Disgaea can be another game to get. You can play both the first and second games, Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness and Dark Hero Days, via PPSSPP. Guaranteed this game will take a lot of your time grinding to level 9999.
10. God of War
Like GTA, you can play the prequel to the two God of War titles on PS2 on PPSSPP. First, there is Chains of Olympus which takes place before the first game, when Kratos was still serving the gods of Olympus and he saw the sun fall from the sky. Then Ghost of Sparta is a prequel to GOW 2 (but continues the GOW 1’s story). Here Kratos realizes that he has a long-lost brother.
11. Ace Combat
Fans of flight games will be spoiled by two different Ace Combat games. One, there's AC X, set in the fictional world of Strangereal like almost all other AC titles; and another one is AC Joint Assault, which takes place in the real world similar to Assault Horizon and Infinity.
12. Need for Speed
With the flight game covered, it means that this article can be closed with a racing game. For Need for Speed alone, you got quite a choice in PPSSPP: Need For Speed: Underground Rivals, Most Wanted, Carbon: Own The City, Pro Street, Undercover, and Shift. Surely you won't get bored quickly!
